Sony CCD-V700E camcorder issue

Hello, I don’t post in the right category, none match since I’m talking about a Sony CCD-V700E analog camcorder. When I turn it on and look through the viewfinder, the black-and-white image seems distorted depending on the light, I don’t quite see what’s wrong. Also last night it started emitting a rotten fish smell (no, it’s not funny…!) and since then I can’t restart it! What should I do?

    Hello, the technological lifespan of these devices is already well past, and its lifetimes, in my opinion, are already quite long; it has worked well and deserves a good retirement.
    And if you insist, propose that we get a quote from Sony for you.

    Indeed I’m just not lucky with this kind of stuff… I also have a second one, a CCD-F340E that starts up but the image in the viewfinder is glitchy, otherwise everything seems to work except that..
