Hello,

I have an oversized AVI video, and I have tried all the video players I have on my PC, but none of them work!
Please, if you could recommend a video player for this type of file that can be downloaded for free, I would be very grateful.

Thank you.

    Hello

thank you for your responses. Actually, it's a video created by the software Pointools, a 3D animation based on a point cloud taken by a scanner of a historical site. The video is 4GB in size. I tried to play this video using the players below

    VLC media player
    Media player codec pack
    Real player
    divX player
    Windows player
    AVS media player
I even tried to convert the AVI extension to MOV and MP4 with the converter
    Format Factory
and none of that worked, so please, if you can recommend a video player that can play this video, I would be very grateful
    thank you

4 GB for a video is not surprising.
With a DV codec, we are at about 12 MB/s, or 12 GB for a one-hour video.

I looked at the output format of "pointools" videos.
For encapsulation, it is indeed AVI.
For the codec, the application offers a choice between several codecs, but I don't know which ones.

VLC uses a nice collection of codecs, but it may not have the one that was used to create your video.
You can use this to know the characteristics of a video:

Another hypothesis is that your file may simply be corrupted.

Thank you for your responses, by the way the file is not damaged!
I tried to export a clip from the video and it worked, so the only problem remaining is that the video is very large, and I no longer know how to play it in its entirety. Actually, it’s a final project and I’m really pressed for time. Regarding the codec, I exported the video with the FULL FRAMES codec, in case you took a look at the different codecs that the Pointools software allows.

I would be very grateful if you could help me solve this problem.

      Hello
can you give us the details of your video via media info as Antipolis mentioned
you can try splitting your file into 2 parts, encoding each part with the same encoding characteristics and muxing everything together.
      best regards
