Hi everyone, I'm posting this discussion to find out if there will be another installment of the Legend of the Guardians, The Owls of Ga'Hoole. Having loved the first film, I'm wondering if there will be a second one. The first film came out in 2008, which is quite some time ago. Anyway, thanks for your future replies :D

  I don't know when it will happen, but I'm sure there will be a sequel to the Guardians of Ga'Hoole since Kludd, Soren's brother, survived, and he will become the new Steel Beak and seek revenge on his own family.

There will surely never be a movie sequel, as this one is inspired by a series of novels (they are quite thick, sorry for those allergic to reading); those who want to know what happens next, even 10 years after the film's release, will be forced to read them.

    Well, it's simple, it's a bit outrageous. I wanted the sequel; they have to because Kledd is normally with Nyra and he's not dead. Then they can make the movie where, yeah, Soren's little sister has grown up and there's a new battle, you know.

The sequel would be great in 2, there are plenty of possibilities... personally, I'm losing hope for the sequel because they don't want to go through with things...

So in the end, I started writing my own, which is set a few generations later (because I can't copy it if I publish it later...)

If you think it's a good idea, let me know because I'm indecisive about sharing it...

  Excuse me, but what you're saying makes no sense. Just because you've read the books, there shouldn't be any films? (Even if they are "great")
  Personally, I think unfortunately this film didn't get the success it deserves, so no producer will look into it to continue the saga in the cinema... It's a shame!

  No, what I mean is that they decided to make the movie before the ending intended by the author was revealed... A risky move, for sure, but this has happened before and it didn't pose a problem.
  HOWEVER, when you skip over characters that are important for the rest of the story, when you change the plot (I don't want to spoil it, but I could give you plenty of examples), and when you invent things to cover up your mistakes, I'm sorry but no, that needs to stop.
  And yes, the books are much better; they are better embedded in the world of the owls: some written aspects can never be reproduced in an audiovisual format, that still exists...
  But of course, for someone who hasn't made the effort to engage with both mediums, it must not be easy to notice.

  A sequel would be tolerable, but only if it lives up to the first one.
  
  I wish for it to talk about NYROC. That's all I'm asking. I accept that the rest can be destroyed, but it must focus on the protagonist of volumes 7 and 8! And also the terrible wolves (even if I don't really like them) given their importance, and OTULISSA, that sad essential character relegated to the background in the film.

  I think you're wrong, Enley, because an adaptation for cinema is not just about reproducing the book verbatim; it's about successfully conveying the universe and delivering the same lessons as the book, all through images that are not provided by the author. I actually find that the film managed to create beautiful CGI and a well-crafted story, all while keeping the audience engaged and infusing it with beautiful music. So, as a film enthusiast, I thought the movie was great and a second installment would be welcome. However, you're entitled to prefer the book, but don't go so far as to say that the film is rubbish, because that's not true. Personally, I prefer a film that doesn't follow the book entirely but is good, than one that sticks to the book word for word and features bad actors (not to name names, but like Twilight, which chose Kristen Stewart).

  My opinion is rather mixed. A second film would be great, considering I loved the first one, but I find that the books are much more detailed. There are so many data, places, characters, actions, and adventures from the books "The Guardians of Ga'Hoole" that are not represented in the film, and that disappoints me because the books are filled with thrilling adventures that I'm currently devouring, which is why I find the film a bit "empty," but it is true that in 1 hour and 30 minutes, not many things can be included. Nevertheless, I really love the film, because it's better than nothing.
  It is true that the film is sensational, as long as you don't compare it to the books. Every time I watch it, I'm fascinated, which is why a second installment would be welcome in my opinion.

Hello, honestly, it's a very good movie that won't have a sequel from the main director, at least not for now. Maybe one day, who knows, but in the meantime, let's leave room for our imagination.

The final cliffhanger signifies the desire to make a sequel; unfortunately, given how long we've been waiting, I don't think we'll get one, probably because the movie didn't make enough money for the production. However, it seems to me that the film is adapted from a book, so the sequel likely exists in book form.
