How does the MP Memup Music Drive Kolor 1 GB player work?
I can't play MP3 files. Whether I put them directly on the drive or in the MINCIN.DIR folder, when I turn on the player and press play, it says "No File." I don't understand, there must be a solution.
However, I'm far from being a novice in IT, especially for a simple player; you don't need to graduate from Sciences Po for that.
Thank you for your help, please.

    Hello everyone,

I'm disgusted, I have exactly the same problem!!!!

I installed all the available drivers from the CD that I could, and I get the same message when I turn on my memup and open the music file: "No files." Moreover, the hotline is unreachable, and from what I've read in some forums, the internet technical support is just as effective.
It's clear, I don't understand why I'm struggling with a product like this, it should be simple damn it!!

Help, please! I'm depressed without music, sniff.....

On our side, no worries about the music, and without doing anything. However, my son is freaking out because he can't see the videos he uploaded to his memup.

Ok so I'm not the only one in trouble. I'm really satisfied with my product! Thanks Memup for the crappy MP3 USB keys.

To put files on the USB drive, do not enter it but simply drag them directly into the corresponding drive (G: ; as far as I’m concerned).

Either our keys are not working, or the handling is so complex that we cannot solve our problem.

I've tried transferring, manipulating file names, renaming, but nothing works. Only the files created by the key in recording mode are detected. What's worse, if we replace a wave file created by the key with a playable music file in wav format, the key no longer recognizes the format, which also causes display bugs.

Note: I am talking about my brother's key; mine had, in addition to this defect, a technical failure with the button '<<'.

Hello, I'm in the same situation as you, I can't read MP3s either. I'm also having the issue with the '<<' key, what did you do? Thanks for the reply.

I returned the product and they exchanged it after fixing the issue.
My brother's key works perfectly now, he has no more problems. We don't know how we managed to do it.

    Hi!

I also bought a Kolor 1GB Music Drive.

Actually, when you turn it on, you need to go to the Music directory and press the Menu button instead of the Play button, and then it works..

However, I can't find the setting to choose the color of the backlight, which causes the screen to keep flickering between different colors... Does anyone have the solution??

I had the same problem as you. You need to search for all the .exe files on the CD and then try to install everything you can. For my part, I then directly transferred my music (into a subfolder) and it worked.
    Never again Memup lol.

You need to go to the main menu and the "memory" tab (or something that looks like that). The idea is to reset the memory of the key so that it can recognize the mp3 files.

Hi! I bought this mp3 player last week too. Same problem when I wanted to put in files. I put all sorts of files on the stick and in the MICIN.DIR file.
After some tinkering by my little sister, it recognized the files. She looked into how to put an update on the player itself, without going through the computer.
Miracle! The files were detected on the stick, but not in the MICIN file. I don’t know how my little sister figured it out, but I think you just have to wait a bit for the stick to notice that there are files lol.
But it’s not a format issue at all: mp3 and WMA went through without a hitch.
    Bye!!

Well, there he goes again! I haven't touched anything and now he can't see anything...
    This is crap
I'm fed up with changing mp3s, it's the 5th or 6th one in 2 years... grrrrr
    My sister's tinkering wasn't enough... :(((

Well, I see I did well to create this topic.

So for my part, my MP3 player worked like this... for no reason. I turn it on, it doesn't recognize any files. I turn it off. A friend turns it on, it works. I turn it off. I turn it on, it doesn't work. It did this to me several times. Now, it's fine, everything works perfectly. But I have no technical explanation.

Maybe one thing. I installed Winamp, and when I connected my MP3 player, it detected it and Winamp talked to me in English. It annoyed me, so I closed everything, and after that, my player worked.

Try installing several players on your PC (VLC, Winamp...) and connect your MP3 player and see...

By the way, I can't stop the blinking of the backlight colors to stabilize it on a single color. Does anyone know how to do that?

    Hello!
    It’s working again!!!
    I’ll explain:
    menu>system>power set
I had changed it to 10, and it wouldn’t detect the files
I set it back to 2 and it works!!!
I don’t know if that’s it, but it’s the only thing I changed in between!
    Good luck with yours!!!

    HAAAAAAAAAAA! I found it!!!
This morning, I had to experience it again!!!
I had recorded a little file with my dictaphone, and just after deleting it, HORROR! All my files disappeared again!!! I tried to add files, move them, removed and put them back, no way!!!
And I had the bright idea, like you "ga", not to press the play button, but the button that opens the menu. Indeed, the play button allows you to go back, so if you were in the "voice" section and you go into the menu and then press play, you return to the voice file, which is empty!!!
On the other hand, if in the menu you position yourself on music and enter it with the button with which you opened the menu, all your music files will appear!!!
Ga, can you confirm what I've just discovered!! Thanks for your help!!
It seems the problem is solved!!!
Good luck to everyone for the test!!!!

Hello everyone, here’s what I did to make the mp3 files recognized on this player: go to system then press a-b and menu at the same time and then press menu; you will enter the player’s system go to power set and press menu set the value to disable by pressing the right arrow and confirm with menu. go to exit then press menu to validate. then go to music press menu. it should work now. good luck.

    Hello everyone!

It also took me a long time to understand how the key worked, here's how I did it:
I went to www.memup.com and clicked on the right menu: "I want to download a driver for my Memup product"
I selected my product: music drive kolor and then I downloaded my driver: Windows 98 & SE - Ref."K" (ali).

Then I installed the driver and restarted my computer.

After that, I took my mp3 files and dragged them directly into my memup (F: for me) without trying to open file D: or file MICIN.DIR.

There you go, I hope I was able to help you.
    Good luck to everyone.
