Hello,    I'm unable to adjust the brightness (my eyes can't take it anymore), even with the F6 and F7 keys. Can someone explain how to do it?  Thank you

You do not mention the Fn key ...
In principle, it is with the combination of the two keys Fn+F6 that we decrease the screen brightness and with the combination of the two keys Fn+F7 that we increase the screen brightness.

Thank you, but indeed I forgot to mention that I already have the fn key to increase or decrease brightness, but when I try, nothing happens at all.

Can you lower the volume by pressing Fn + 3 or not?  Try to find Toshiba Accessibility on your PC, maybe you'll find something interesting.

Hello, I bought a Toshiba Satellite L 750 D yesterday, and I have exactly the same problem. The Fn F6 and Fn F7 keys do not respond. The brightness stays at maximum, even in eco mode. As a result, the battery drains very quickly. However, when I'm on battery and I close the screen, when I open it again, still on battery, the brightness is very low, and I absolutely have to reboot to get the maximum brightness back.

I tried downloading the Value Added Package and manually rebooting the flash cards in Toshiba/Utilities, but nothing works.

If anyone has a solution before I go back to the store to get it changed...

After a BIOS update (and some hesitations, the Toshiba website mentioning independent OS in the BIOS update and not Windows 7 64 bits), I went from version 1.50 to 1.80, and miracle, this version finally supports eco mode and brightness.

To ensure that the FN key functions again, you need to go into CCleaner and rename 00TCRDMAIN.EXE to TCRDMAIN.EXE (remove the "00").
If you can't find it, go directly to Regedit.exe and search for TCRDMAIN.
