Hello,
I have acquired an Acer N1996 motherboard without a processor, apparently with a socket 775.
I can't find the specifications of the motherboard online.
I'm looking for a fully compatible processor.

Thank you in advance for your responses.

I know that an E8400 is compatible, but after that, socket 775 is becoming increasingly outdated and therefore fewer and fewer processors are compatible. Take a look at matériel.net or another retailer by specifying socket 775 in your processor search.

Alright. Is there any other characteristic to take into account?
Thank you for the response.

Hum... while searching I see that the socket is a 478...

Processor Socket Type - mPGA478

Does the photo match?

EDIT: it is indeed 775

no, it doesn't match.
this one does: http://image.ohozaa.com/i/b3e/n1996002.jpg
you can see the number in the middle and for the brand I have a label on one of the "tour" of the outputs.

Otherwise, if it's 775, there are no other characteristics to consider.
