Hello,

how to use

Ultimate Boot CD to install Windows XP with my installation CD that won't boot on my PC

what is the procedure to follow?

can you format a hard drive with Ultimate Boot CD? if so, how? because I already have part of my operating system installed but it is stuck because the CD-ROM won't boot and I can't continue the installation of XP

I found this, but I admit that I am lost even with this

    Hello,
Go to CD/DVD to set it as the primary boot device, then press F10 to save Yes, etc. and Enter to restart the PC, if you want to boot from a CD.
Alternatively, you can go to HDD, then press F10 to save Yes and Enter to restart the PC.

Hello, and thank you, but that's done in the BIOS, yet my Windows XP installation CD won't boot; it freezes like in the pictures I've posted above.

if you have the first image it means that the reader is capable of booting from a CD-ROM

so your XP disk is at fault

from seeing the second image your disk is an upgrade disk, so it only works with a valid pre-installed Windows

Press F12, then use the arrow keys to select "Boot from CD" and once the option is highlighted, insert the CD and press Enter; the selected option allows you to boot from the CD instead of the hard drive.
Now, wait a moment: you should see "loading ramdisk image" followed by "please wait," and just after that, a gray screen for about a minute, then a screen where you need to choose your language.
Check French ( ) then click "next" and answer YES to the message asking if you want to format the data on C:.
Then, after that, wait for the complete end and your PC will restart automatically in about 20 to 30 minutes.
You need to wait quite a long time for the XP installer to load; just follow the prompts.
Finally, it will restart, and if everything works, your XP should be like new.

You need to restart the PC and press F12 right after the Acer logo.
