Error 101: The connection has been reset

Question

Hello,

For the past two weeks, browsing the net has become a real mission on my PC.
Indeed, I have sites blocked 75% of the time due to this infamous error 101, even though I have no connection issues.

I've tried everything. CCleaner to analyze and repair anomalies, I also tested with Ultrasurf 10.08, with no success. I reset my internet settings. But nothing works, I still have this problem.

I downloaded another program similar to CCleaner, which found lots of anomalies, but it costs €35, which bothers me a bit, you see...

Does anyone have a 100% reliable solution to solve this problem???

(ps: I had already encountered this issue a few months ago, I resolved it, but now I can't...)
ps2: whether it's on Mozilla, Firefox, or IE, the same issue persists.

I had a similar problem to yours, but I'm not sure if it's the same.
Anyway, it might be your network (Free, etc.) that doesn't have a good signal...
But you might have a virus that's disconnecting you from the internet?
Try running a virus scan.

The antivirus scan shows nothing, and on my other PCs at home, there are no connection issues.

No, but the problem isn’t the connection; I have 3 PCs and a Mac in the house, none of them have issues like this. It’s specific to my PC.

Hello,
For a few weeks now, I've been having the same problem; after a few moments of browsing, error 101 appears. I currently have no idea of the origin of this issue, but here’s what I observe at this stage:
- when the issue occurs, all sites are blocked (same message)
- however, https addresses are not blocked
- this problem is not browser-related (same on Chrome or IE)
- browsing becomes possible again after a few moments
- there haven’t been any notable changes on the PC recently that could explain this issue.
- modifying proxy settings, and deleting caches and cookies do not resolve the problem

So if you have any ideas, suggestions... I'm all ears.

Similar problem, with... A single and unique site, the blogbd portal. Everything else works as usual. No difference whether I use Chrome or Firefox.

Just like you. There must be a virus going around because we all have the same problem at the same time.

I have 2 PCs at home and both have this issue even though my connection is working fine.

I can only access certain websites.

For my part, I solved the problem by reformatting my computer. After a few years, it can't hurt! I also changed my search engine, as I feared that it was coming from Mozilla Firefox. And since then, everything's been great; it's working like it did at the beginning.

I believe I have found the source of the problem:
The website(s) you cannot access have blocked your IP address.
Why?
Because your computer has sent too many requests to their servers.
I recommend checking what is installed on your computer using an antivirus or antispyware software.

Hello, I encountered this kind of problem, and this error is due to a blockage by an antivirus of the site’s IP address, or by anti-malware, but generally, it comes from an anti-malware that you have installed, and for that, you just need to add the site's IP address to the exclusions (in the options of the anti-malware or antivirus). After that, I don't know if it will pose some risk to do this, but it depends on the site you're visiting, so be cautious anyway. I hope this helps you.
