USB headset not recognized/detected by the PC

Question

Hello,I recently encountered a problem with my USB headset (Tritton AX180):Out of the blue, it stopped working, so I checked the recording and playback devices and noticed that the headset's name was not listed (meaning the headset was not detected by Windows).As a result, I haven't been able to use my headset for the past two days...If you have a solution to my problem, I would be very grateful.RémyConfiguration: Windows Vista / Safari 535.11

This response comes a bit late, I just had a similar problem and I found a solution, I hope it can help someone ;)

You need to go to the device manager, choose your headset, disable it and then enable it again. It also works when any device crashes (especially network cards).

several solutions,
the simplest is to turn off the computer with the peripheral in the USB port and restart,

Hello,

You need to determine if the issue is with the headset or the PC.

So test the headset on another PC to see if it works.

Try plugging the headset into different USB ports; one of the ports may not be functioning properly.

First of all, I would like to thank you for all your responses.

Regarding your suggestions, I have already tried:
- Turning off the computer with the USB device: It doesn't work.
- Control panel => install new hardware: The hardware is not recognized, so it doesn't work.
- I don't have another PC, so I can't test my headset (but it powers on when I connect it via USB).
- Headset tested on other USB ports: It doesn't work.

So I have tried these few solutions and unfortunately nothing works...

My drivers are all up to date and my PC is a Vista (from HP).

So if it can help someone, I had the same issue until this morning: my USB headset (Scorpio Gaming Headset) was no longer recognized when plugged in via USB overnight for no apparent reason ("USB device not detected").

I just solved the problem as follows: this model of headset has a detachable microphone jack. It wasn't working if the microphone was not connected to the headset. By plugging it in, miracle, the device is recognized and detected as if nothing had happened ^^... go figure!

I suppose it could also work by turning the switch to "ON" in the case of a headset with a fixed microphone...

I’m far from being a computer expert, so I don’t know if this will help everyone, but in any case it works for me...
