Canal Plus Remote Control

Question

Hello,

I have a Canal+/Canal Sat decoder, and for a few years everything was going well. I bought a Sony HD TV two years ago, and it was still working. Recently, though, the remote control stopped working. This happened gradually, with increasing difficulties in changing channels and accessing menus... I replaced the batteries, dismantled and reassembled it, but nothing worked. I replaced it with a new one with new batteries, and it still doesn't work. Even with the TV off, the decoder doesn't respond. It's impossible to change the channel or access the menus. The decoder works if I change channels using the manual buttons.
I don't understand anything.
Can someone help me?

I have the answer:

- new batteries
- turn off the energy saver in the TV image settings
- unplug the TV from its power supply
- press the R button on the decoder for 10 seconds
- the decoder will restart and will be reset when it shows a channel (in about 1 minute)
- plug the power back into your TV
- Normally, the problem is resolved.

Il faut que tu fasses ce test : éteins ta télé et essaie d'utiliser la télécommande Canal + Canal Sat... ça devrait fonctionner. Si c'est le cas, c'est un problème de lumière d'ambiance en rapport avec la LED d'ambiance (verte qui clignote dès que tu utilises la télécommande).

Same for me with an LG Plasma 127cm purchased last week!
For me, I don't call that a "kind of surprise," but a real piece of shit and an absolute scam!

And everyone is passing the buck:
For LG:

- it's the Canal cube that doesn't comply with European frequency standards, changed frequency this year, and uses the same frequency as the TV's ambient sensor

- they can't do anything.

For CANAL +:
- 1st response: we don't know about the problem (not bothered!!!)

then after insistence (there are dozens of topics on the web, etc...):
- it's the TV manufacturers who have implemented features that interfere with the Cube
- so it's not their fault
- changing the decoder wouldn't help at all
- they can't do anything and they won't do anything!

It's a real piece of shit! And all this in the 3rd millennium!

To keep it simple, the equipment rented from Canal is cheap junk at $10 or $15. Just change it when it malfunctions.
To avoid any issues, return the decoder and its card, take a "card only" subscription, and a TNTSat CanalReady decoder.
You will get your deposit back minus 15 euros for the card only, so 75 - 15 = 60 euros, no more monthly rental which should be 6 euros/month (keep in mind that Canal is likely to raise its prices by 1 euro).
As for the simple tuner, a Humax TN5000 that also works as a recorder on an external hard drive, and the Humax TN5050HDr double tuner HD with a 320GB internal hard drive. With both, you can record all the channels of your subscription, again at no extra cost.

"The" answer, Canal+ subscription card only, a Humax TN 5000 or Humax TN5050HDR.
We return the equipment, recovering the 75 euros deposit, minus 15 euros for the card only. Subscription increases to 36 euros per month.

You need to take a colored plastic ruler (not transparent), cut it to the length of the cube, and place it upright in front.
No more problems (I had tried with tape and a transparent ruler without success).
The downside lies in the lack of perception of the time or the chain.
