Hello,
I am looking to retrieve the names (not the contents) of a large number of files organized in a directory (on Windows) into Excel.

Hello,
Based on this source, you can easily use this workbook.
It lists, according to your choice of directory, all your subdirectories and the files contained within them.
In bold appear:
- the initial directory,
- the subdirectories.
The file names, with extensions, are placed in hidden rows. You just need to click on the name (in bold) of the relevant directory to make them appear or disappear... The file names also include a hyperlink allowing for possible opening...
Satisfied?
Best regards,
Franck P
