[Scanner] Document size issue Solved

Question

Hello,

I need to scan a color text document in A4 format to send to clients by email.

My problem is that with every attempt, I cannot maintain the original A4 format of the document. Either it is too large and therefore too heavy (about 3 MB) or when I reduce it, it ends up being too short for good quality printing.

I have tried to find the answer on the forum but I can't manage to.

What should I do? Thank you for your advice.

I have a multifunction Epson Stylus 4450 printer, and I can't scan the document (photo or other) at its original size.
For example, if I want to scan 2 postage stamps at their actual size, when I print, I end up with the first stamp printed full page on a sheet... and the second one also full page? ..
I have, of course, tried everything I could ... nothing works? ..
I should note that I also tried this on my second scanner "Epson Perfection 1260" ... Same result? ..

Can someone more skilled than me provide a solution to this problem? ..

Hello! I can't seem to maintain the original A4 format of the document. -> You need to set the scanning area to A4 size. Usually, it's a preview window to stretch.  http://www.alyon.org/~byc/scsi/adap-scan.gif  I can't guide you any further as it depends on the scanner management program you are using.  Thus, it might be too large and therefore too heavy (about 3 MB) -> Reduce the graphic resolution (generally expressed in dpi). -> Save the scanned document in jpg format.   -- *** Asking a stupid question is less stupid than remaining in ignorance ***

Thank you for your reply.

For the document size, I had already set it to A4 format but that didn't change anything.

By tinkering a bit, I tried setting the resolution to 100 ppi instead of 300 (default). As a result, the size was correct (??) but the quality took a bit of a hit. It's still acceptable for me, but if you have any other ideas, I'm all ears.

hi  I had the same problem. So I turned off the printer, turned it back on, and it worked! a silly and incomprehensible little problem... I hope this is the solution for you. bye
