Calculating a slope in Excel

Question

Hello,
I'm a beginner with Excel and I absolutely don't know how to calculate the slope of a scatter plot with markers and curves. I've created my graph with position as a function of time, and now I'm stuck on how to calculate the slope.
Could someone help me with this?
It would be very kind of you to assist me, knowing that I have the 2008 version of Excel and I'm on a Mac.

Hello,

Excel allows you to display the regression line from a scatter plot.

To calculate the slope of a line: delta y/delta x
(Y2-Y1)/(X2-X1)

For other types of curves, see the statistics course.

For me, that's a bit far (more than 50 years...).

There are also the functions Slope() and Intercept()

And since you’re talking about graphs, if you right-click on a point, in the context menu you’ll find 'Add a trendline...'

Hello forum

The X values are in A1 to A14
The Y values are in B1 to B14

So to obtain the slope

=SLOPE(B1:B14;A1:A14)
