[excel] lock the layout?

D.I.Y.: "sacrifice" a column or a row by reducing it to 0.2cm and coloring it black, for example (right-click -> format cell), and only work in the cells in between. (Of course, this won't work if you need a more complex layout than a simple grid.)

When you copy, then use "Paste Special" and uncheck "Format".

Which version of Excel are you using?
If it's 2003, when you protect your document, it prevents the selection of locked cells (this is done by not allowing it mmmfff!!)

Hello, sorry to revive this forum, but I have a problem of the same kind.

At work, we use an Excel spreadsheet for medication processing sheets. I'm looking for a way to lock the layouts without preventing users from typing text in the cells.
Actually, the table fits perfectly on one page, which is very convenient for us, but sometimes when modifying a treatment, the doctor deletes a row, which reduces the size, or adds rows, so it ends up on two pages, or even deletes part of the table layout and the sheet looks like a mess.
I would like them to be able to delete content (if a treatment is finished), or add content, but without changing the rows.
(For now, I go back after them on my personal time, and update the sheet myself, but with 80 treatment sheets and an average of 30 treatment changes per week, I have better things to do.)
If it helps, I am working with Office 2010 on a Windows XP PC.

Another method:

Data / Validation ....

You can select for each cell or groups the type of data that is allowed to be entered.

It's a very selective filter ..... worth trying.
