Hello,

Here’s a little riddle I'm stuck on.

A treasure consists of five ingots, each made of a different metal: Gold - Silver - Platinum - Bronze and Nickel. Each chest contains one ingot. Each chest is engraved with a number and a statement. Only the statement on the chest containing the gold is true. All other statements are false.

Statement on chest number 1: Gold is in chest number 2 or in chest number 3.
Statement on chest number 2: Silver is in chest number 1.
Statement on chest number 3: Bronze is not here.
Statement on chest number 4: Nickel is in the chest preceding the one that contains gold.
Statement on chest number 5: Platinum is in the chest following the one that contains bronze.

Good luck to you.

Good evening
The answer is here
The first statement cannot be true, otherwise the gold would be in chest 1.

So, the gold is found neither in chest 1, nor in 2, nor in 3.

Then the third statement is false, so the bronze is in 3.

The fourth statement is false too, otherwise 3 would contain nickel.

Therefore, the gold can only be in 5.

So, the platinum is in 4.

The silver is not in 1, so it's in 2.

And, finally we have:
1: Nickel - 2: Silver - 3: Bronze
4: Platinum - 5: Gold.
