Hello,
I downloaded the update checker software, but the download did not complete correctly. As a result, every time I turn on my PC, I get an error message. I would like to be able to uninstall the update checker properly since I no longer need it.
Configuration: Windows XP / Firefox 7.0.1

Hello,
Here is a solution on Windows 7 to uninstall UpdateChecker (Official site: http://www.updatechecker.net).
Go to "Control Panel/Programs/...." and uninstall UpdateChecker.
If the program is still present....
Go to the "Task Manager," in the "Details" tab you will find UpdateChecker running, right-click first "Open file location", keep this window open (this is where the program is still installed), right-click again and end task.
In the window you kept open, find UpdateChecker and delete it.
Analyze your PC with your antivirus and see if it finds anything.
