Hello everyone,
I have been trying for several hours to connect my printer (connected to a Windows desktop) to my MacBook Pro. Small victory: I can get each of them to detect the other on each computer.
Unfortunately, when I want to print something, it asks me for the username and password for the user associated with printer X. Not knowing what to enter, I entered my account name on the Mac, and it displayed "authentication request in progress" regarding the printer's status and remains stuck like that without printing anything.
I hope this is clear; I’m wondering what username and password to use.
PS: I am on Mac OS 10.7.1 and the Windows PC is on Vista; the printer is an HP Deskjet F4100.
