"Do you want to replace the destination cell"

Solved

Hello,

In Excel 2010, I would like the message "Do you want to replace the contents of the destination cells" to stop appearing each time I move a cell over another.

Is it possible to do this without a macro or any other complex solution? I'm not an Excel geek...

Thank you for your help!

Good evening,

It's the same on 2003 as well.
On 2003: 'tools/options/edit/alert before replacement'

Thank you!

But I can't find that in Excel 2010, which, as you know, has completely restructured the menu (grrr...)

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

In 2010, you need to click on the Microsoft button in the top left corner and then you'll see Options in the bottom right corner.

I can find a "Options" menu in the "File" tab, but nothing in that menu regarding Excel alert management.

And to be honest, I can't find a "Microsoft Orb" at the top left...

Could you please tell me exactly where this orb is located? Thank you for your help!

Okay, I found it:

File > Options > Advanced Options > Editing Options > Uncheck "Alert before replacement"

Thanks everyone!

Hi,

Well, these messages are precisely to avoid this kind of error, so why remove them?

But if I make this type of move intentionally.

And anyway, you can undo any mistake in Excel with a simple ctrl+z

No, this message is completely unnecessary and annoying, and my good old Excel 2003 at work doesn’t impose it on me. How do I remove it from Excel 2010?
