Voila, lros de l'installation de la demo du jeu championship manager 4 pour ma part, et de directx 8.1 pour un ami, nous avons tous les 2 un gros problemes :
lors de l'sintallation, des le debut, pednant "l'installshield wizard", j'ai ce message d'erreur qui apparait :
"1608: Unable to create InstallDriver instance, Return code: -2147221164"
Ca me ferme tout, et je reveins sur le bureau ... Cela m'enerve car je ne parveins pas a trouver de solution :(

voilà ce que j'ai trouvé, c'est pour une autre application mais a priori c'est indépendant de l'appli, c'est un problème d'installshield avec la config réseau, j'ai trouvé plusieurs sources qui concordent, en particulier sur l'installation du client pour réseaux MS.
The 1608 error you are experiencing is caused by the Install Shield application and how it interacts with certain Network configuration settings. Please note that the steps are different for the different Operating Systems.

For Windows XP
Select "Control Panel" from your "Start" menu. Open "Network Connections" under "Control Panel".
Right click on the "Local Area Connection" icon and select properties. The window that opens will be "Local Area Connection Properties". It will give a list of components that are used by this connection. From this list look for "Client for Microsoft Networks". It should not appear on this list. If it does appear and has a check mark beside it, then it is already installed, and this is a different problem that we will need to investigate further as to the cause. Please contact Strydent technical support.
If it doesn't appear on the list of installed components click on the "Install" button below the list. The window that opens will give you the option to add "Client for Microsoft Networks". Click on the "Add" button.
Next restart your computer.
