Thank you for your response!! :-) I had already visited the Creative site, but they don't offer drivers. There is only a firmware update from 2005 and software for burning CDs.

Well, I have XP and when I plug it in, it recognizes it, but not as a removable disk, it puts the MP3 in "OTHER" in the workstation. But I can't send files to my MP3, not even by copy-pasting. A circle with a line through it appears, and then it annoys me to buy these latest gadgets that never work. I wonder if they really test their MP3 players. That's why if someone has the driver, I would appreciate it because I lost mine, so if someone could send it to me, thanks.

I have a 2GB Zen that works like a charm thanks to the SD slot, luckily, otherwise, it would be at the back of the cupboard, impossible to get it recognized by Vista, always the same message: no drivers installed... What to do if anyone has a solution, thank you in advance

Well, I confirm that for everyone who still has their Creative installation CD, the proposed procedure of going through the compatibility assistant works! I had done the steps without success because it still didn't recognize my MP3, but after much reflection, I managed to find the problem: you need to go into the device installation assistant, find the location of the MP3 (with a question mark), "properties," "update driver," and then you have to go look for where you installed the software from the CD, and you select the "drivers" folder, and there, miracle, it's finally the right driver!  Well, that's basically what I did, you have to dig a bit, and I might not be very precise because computers aren't really my thing...   And for those who might have lost their CD, I can always send you mine, as long as you send it back to me afterwards!   Good luck everyone!  Laurette

Hello,  To install a Creative ZEN Micro or similar under XP pack 1 or 2 or others!!! It is important to completely uninstall WINDOWS Media Player 11! Be careful, it's in two steps. First, the software (in program removal, and also in Windows component removal!!)  Then let Windows install WINDOWS Media PLAYER 10. (without updating) Several reboots are necessary... to do all this :(  And then you will be able to launch the installation of the official CREATIVE drivers!!! It works very well.. Because like you, I struggled for 10 hours to find this solution on various web forums...  If it doesn't work, it means there is still a component of WMplayer 11 on your machine!!!  Good luck... :)

I think I downloaded Creative Media Explorer from the Creative website, but the PID detector said that the MP3 wasn't connected even though it was, and that I could open my folders.
