Hello,
I want to add a domain controller (Windows Server 2008) to an existing domain (domain on Windows Server 2003). When I follow the Active Directory installation steps, it shows me the following message: "failed to examine the active directory forest the error was expected value ridmasterdsa.parentDN not found"
RQ: I have a Dell PowerEdge 2800 as a server equipped with Windows Server 2008 R2
Any idea.
Thank you.

Do not perform this operation in a production environment. You must first do it in a test environment!
have you done the adprep?
if yes, did you use the 32-bit version on the Windows 2008 R2 DVD?
