Error message: Insert system disk in drive

Question

Hello,
as a novice, I'm asking for help that may not pose too much technical difficulty for you!
CDT I just got a TOSHIBA 4070 CDT laptop with Windows NT4, so I wanted to update it by restoring it with the CD-ROM from my wife's Toshiba laptop, but since then, I think I've made a mistake. A message appears as soon as the session starts: "Insert system disk in drive, press any key when ready"

@@ HUG ! @@  It happens in the BIOS:  Tap F2 or Del at startup and in "boot," choose the hard drive first  If it's for a reinstall, choose the CD-ROM...  -- 10 fingers... But why? ???

If it doesn't boot on the BIOS or your CD isn't bootable

And you will see the diskette for Windows NT4

Hello everyone, I'm not very good with computers, so if someone could help me, that would be great.
I got a Toshiba Satellite 4070CDT, and when I turn it on, the following error message appears: "INSERT SYSTEM DISK IN DRIVE PRESS ANY KEY WHEN READY..."
And I don't have any CDs or disks for this computer, what should I do???

Hi

This means either your operating system is damaged (Unrecognized boot sector) or you don't have one!

In light of what I just saw on Google, your Toshiba is a 366 MHz Oh Oh! You can only install either 98Se (which is no longer supported by Microsoft), NT4, or 2000 (with a minimum of 128 MB of RAM, but ideally 256 MB of RAM, but definitely forget about XP).

Go to this address:

Boot disk for all Windows systems or get yourself a bootable installation CD and, as mentioned, set your boot sequence in the BIOS.

To do this, you usually need to enter the BIOS by pressing F1 or DEL during startup, and when you have access to the BIOS, you will either:

Advanced BIOS Features

Or

Boot Sequence

And set this sequence for your boot:

First Boot Device: Floppy (floppy drive)
Second Boot Device: CDROM (CDROM drive)
Third Boot Device: HDD-0 (or IDE0) (corresponding to your primary hard drive).

Hello,
A 5200 satellite boots the options with the F12 key, but only the internet option starts: for all others, the message appears:
Insert disk in drive
press any key when ready

The disk works perfectly on another 5200. The CD-ROM drive is also unresponsive. It only opens with a needle.
The second internal disk does not respond either.

Could it be that the BIOS battery is completely discharged?
Where is it located in the Toshiba 5200?
