Hello
I want to adjust the lens of my PS2, so I opened it and found a number of screws underneath, probably for the adjustment. I want to understand how to do it and which of these screws is for the adjustment. Thank you.
Configuration: ps2 500004

    Hello,
    Don't fix that!

If I understand what you mean, you're referring to the potentiometer, you won't be able to read without the correct setting!

Why do you want to "adjust" it?

Yes, but it depends on what you want to do.....
Adjust for what? Are you having trouble reading your discs?

Steve20 Hello, I have a problem. My PS2, when I turn it on, keeps vibrating very strongly, I have to hit it to make it work, and as soon as the first loading screen appears, it starts vibrating again.
I hit it again, but the PS2 no longer responds. Please, any advice on how to repair it or have it repaired?

Hello, I have a PS2 slim! The problem is that it still reads audio CDs and PlayStation 1 games, but it doesn't want to read DVDs or PS2 games! When I insert a DVD or PS2 game, the khm-430aaa drive starts up, you can see it trying to read the DVD or PS2 game, but it can't manage. Do you think it needs a small adjustment or should I buy a new drive? (Cleaning has already been done, with no success. Thank you.)

How do I open a PlayStation 2? I removed the screws but I think the connectors are blocking it. Please reply, thanks :)

To open your PlayStation, it's simple: you remove the little things that prevent the PlayStation from sliding. These are small square rubber pieces. Take them off, then you have small plastic squares to remove, and normally you should have unscrewed 8 screws.

Hi, I can no longer read but I play on my console. I don't know what I can do. I cleaned my laser but that doesn’t help. And I don't know what to do anymore.

    Thank you for replying.

    Hello,

I have a Slim PS2 and my lens wasn't reading some games or DVDs. So, I replaced my defective lens with a new one, and the problem is that now my PS2 reads all the media but it scratches them very deeply. I lowered the lens as much as possible but a fine scratch keeps marking the games.

Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

    Thank you in advance.

    KSCL.

Hi kcsl. If I were you, I would take the old lens, the dead one, to find the adjustment system, without modifying it too much, and once you're sure of your move, you can adjust the new one to about the same height as the new one.

        Hello,

Thanks, Réparateur, for your reply, but I have found where the scratches were coming from, and it wasn't the lens at all. It was the orange ribbon that had come unstuck at the cardboard side of the optical block and was touching the CD when it moved back outward. A little bit of glue and everything’s fine. But thank you very much for taking the time to respond to me. And good luck to others looking for solutions for their lenses.

Have a good day and a happy New Year 2010 to everyone!!

I don't know how to fix my PS2, and besides, only 2 games work, and I don't like those games, they're terrible. Signed, Ali Boulila
    Bye-bye.
