Hello everyone, I have the same problem. I have a Samsung external DVD burner and every time I try to burn (CD-R) please tell me what I should do so that I can burn something. Thanks to everyone.

Good evening, as soon as I want to burn a movie or something else it doesn’t work. Whether I burn with Windows, Nero, or something else, this is what it tells me before I can burn:
There is no disk in the drive
Insert a inscriptible CD into drive F:/
Note: a CD-inscriptible is a CD that can be converted to a conventional CD .... etc etc etc
And yet my blank CD CD-R Verbatim 52x 700mb is correct; I even tried another one and it’s the same thing.
Knowing that before I formatted my PC with a NEW XP my burner worked very well please help me thank you in advance

Same problem, same message for a few days now about the CD not being writable with a CD/DVD drive +/- R, RW etc.

I’m running Windows XP Home Edition; since I started having this issue, I ran PC Doctor and the tests on the drive: no problem detected with my reader/writer.

However, between the time of my last burn and the appearance of this problem, I installed Magix Video Deluxe Edition 2007: given that Magix has a CD burning feature, could this not explain it?

Has anyone else noticed the same sequence of events?

    Hello

I have the same problem as all of you. Has anyone finished solving this problem? Mine is with my internal CD reader/writer. However, when I go through iTunes and want to burn a playlist to a CD-RW, it works.

    I don’t understand anything.

You download AVS DVD COPY and your problem is solved, and besides that it’s free.

Hi, I have the same problem but for burning data on my CD-RW. Isn't there any software for simply data?

Just a little message for TGJLUH ... I have the same problem as you, I have to burn my internship report onto a DVD, which I have to hand in tomorrow morning. Knowing it's two in the morning, I'm a bit on edge to see my computer tell me that my CD is not writable ...
And yet, that doesn't stop me from being nice to people who participate in forums, they are not obliged to respond to us and they have no obligation ... They are already cool enough to come solve computer problems for little handicapped people like us while most of them must have other things to do than translating every technical term they use!
I find that attitude deplorable, it's thanks to this kind of forum that I didn't have to buy a new computer as soon as there was a problem I couldn't solve!
So there you go, no answer here, we just have to look elsewhere (knowing that some have given answers earlier in the discussion anyway, huh)
    Hi everyone!

Here’s what I found because I had the exact same problem as you. I assume it’s the same thing for CDs and DVDs as well.

"Why doesn't this blank disc work for burning?

If the inserted disc is identified as a 'blank disc' in the navigation pane, but a message in the List pane asks you to insert a writable disc, the disc may be defective or no longer writable. This disc may no longer be writable, for example, if you previously attempted to burn items onto the disc and you interrupted the burning before it finished. Try inserting a writable disc that has not yet been used."

I finally managed to burn on the third DVD (2 blanks that ended up in the trash :/)

Which burning software do you use?

does your software correctly detect your burner?

is your burner a CD burner or a DVD burner?

Finally none of this really helps me; I’d like to know why I’m getting this message and how I can get my movies on CD, knowing that when I use 800MB CD-Rs, my burner assistant tells me there isn’t enough space and that I only have 595 MB available on my disk.

are you sure there is nothing on your CD()?

Hello, I don’t know if you still need help since the message is old, but perhaps my reply can help other people who have the same problem.
I had bought Verbatim DVDs (DVD-R), and when I wanted to burn a movie on them, the message "insert a writable disc" appeared.
Actually you just need to change the media, you shouldn’t buy DVDs but CD-Rs (the "-R" is important), and there you go, it works.

      Hello
personally I always have the problem with my DVD +R DL! When I launch Nero, it says "non inscriptible" even though my DL DVDs are new!

      thanks for your help

It must work, but you absolutely have to have Nero SmartStart, then you go to "Create a data CD/DVD or CD and that must work; don't forget that you also have to put the CD"

Inscriptible means that you can only burn once on a part of the DVD, unlike re-inscriptible where you can burn data on a part that has already been burned

now you say it doesn’t work but you should give more information, do you have error messages? what are you burning? which program are you using? etc...

Hello, I have the same problem when burning movies with my CD writer. It shows the message "insert a writable or blank disc." My DVD-R or DVD-RW (I tried both) are new. What should I do? Is there a solution?

    Hello,

I don’t know if my hypothesis is correct, but if on the cover it says DVD-R, that means it’s a video recorder and not recordable. These types of DVDs are used to back up databases, and it is only usable for a DVD player (or even on a PC).

Maybe you have to insert the DVD into the PC’s DVD drive (workstation, F:).
I couldn’t test it because my drive was removed, so it’s up to you to test the experience.
    Good luck!
