My hi-fi system doesn't play my burned cds

<Hello everyone,
Here is my problem, I have burned several songs (in wma and mp3 format) onto CD-Rs and my hi-fi system refuses to read them.
I was wondering if there is a way to unlock the CD or to burn something additional onto it so that I can play it.

    Hello. I was in the same situation as you before I discovered this.
    First, insert a CD-R (DVD doesn’t work) into your computer and click on 'Burn a disc' with CDBurnerXP, then click on 'Audio Disc (Allows you to create audio discs with or without gaps between tracks)'. Next, choose the files you want to burn onto your CD. Add them to the compilation. Once you’re done selecting, click on Burn. Wait for the processing time for each file. Then, set the speed to 10x (1,764 KB/s). Choose the number of copies you want to make, select the burning method and the burn options. Once chosen, click on 'Start burn'. Then, the burning will proceed quietly and normally, this CD-R will play on your stereo.

        Surely, but you don't explain why the CD-Rs don't play on the stereo...

    I burn my CD-RWs with a CD burner, the brand of my CD-RWs is Verbatim, and when I try to play them on a stereo system or a car radio, it doesn't work, but when I play it on a home theater, it works!!! It's weird...

    Maybe the player is not compatible with the polarity (CD+R or CD-R), some play both, while others don't, that could be the issue :-/

    It doesn't matter what brand the player is, since my burned CDs are not in mp3 but in .cda (like the ones sold in stores), it should work, but it doesn't.
    Moreover, I have a CD that was burned for me and that is read by my player. This one is from the same brand as mine; the only difference is the writing speed: 32 for the one that works versus 52 for the others.

    Do you think that could be the reason??

    I have a Vista laptop and when I burn MP3 music, I can't play them on my stereo that normally reads CDRs, but since I changed computers, I can't read them anymore. Could you please help me?

    Hi,
    I burned in .cda format using Windows Media on an Emtec 700MB 52x CD-R
    It is impossible to play on different hi-fi systems (no disc), but it's readable on a car radio
    What should I do

    Hi,
    indeed, it probably comes from the burning speed, the quality of the engraving can vary depending on the speed. When burning music CDs, it is recommended to never burn at maximum speed.

      Hi,

      Absolutely, never at max speed; for my part, I record them at 4X or a maximum of 8X. And the quality is impeccable.

    I found it!
    For my part:
    1- I insert a blank CD into my PC.
    2- Windows tells me: "Do you want to use this CD as: USB Flash Drive or CD?"
    3- I check CD.
    4- I go to Windows Media Player
    5- I go to the "Burn" tab at the top right
    6- I drag my music into it.
    7- I click on "Start Burn"
    8- Enjoy!!

      An MP3 can only be played by an MP3 player, you can download cdburnerxp (free) and burn it as data.

    Hello, I'm on Mac
    I had the same issue with my old system:
    one single 40-minute track and no sound,
    I spent the whole afternoon on it, and finally, I found a nice little software that's free and effective: liquidCd available here:
    http://liquidcd.softonic.fr/mac/telecharger it allows you to choose a CD image, music, data and to close the session, that's especially what got me into trouble... also, don't set the burning speed to max, apparently!

      Do not burn your music onto a CD-RW that is hardly read on many players!
