Universal remote control

Hello, excuse me, I have a small problem. I have an old TV (Thomson) that still works very well, but the problem is that my remote control no longer works. I bought a remote control at the market that is supposed to be universal (I shouldn't have, you might say), but now I'm really struggling to find a code that works with this remote because there is no brand other than some kind of thing like (Tiantianyong) and below it says TV-139F and universal TV remote. If someone could help me find a code or simply tell me to buy another remote control, lol. Also, the instruction manual is in English, so I'm having a lot of trouble reading it.

Hello,
What tarascon2 says is incorrect.
Normally, with every remote control, there is a manual included that contains, in addition to a list of brands/codes, explanations for finding the code of the device you have in front of you.
However, so-called universal remotes are far from being as universal as their sellers claim, and it is common for the remote and the television (or other device) to be incompatible.

To err is human, to persist is diabolical.

Download the manual for the Chunghop rm139ex, it is the same remote control
there is the procedure in English with the codes in 3 digits.

I have 2 manuals in front of me for 2 different remote controls, each controlling 6 devices, and each has 20 pages of codes for all the devices that the remote can control, and there is no illusion about what you say, neither in the code book nor in the user manual
You might be talking about the 20-in-1 remotes priced at 150-200 euros, and even then?
Besides a list of brands/codes, the explanations for searching for the code of the device we have in front of us.
I think what you mean is that the solution is to place the original remote and the universal remote face to face and transmit the code to the new one, but for that, one would need to have the old one in working order and not everyone does that.
I'm not going to waste my time continuing to discuss with you, but I'll just give you an example of what I said. http://thomson-roc.ifrance.com/ (See Programming by code search)
