Where can I find the device property password?

Hello,

I'm trying to set up the Wi-Fi on my new computer (DELL Latitude E6410), and I'm being asked for the password of the device property??????? an 8-digit code... it's not on the box...

Can someone help me? It's getting on my nerves after a while :)

    I am replying to this post because I struggled quite a bit to solve this problem: I couldn’t connect my Dell D830 laptop to my LiveBox 2 Sagem via WiFi when I used the Intel Pro WiFi Manager, whereas everything worked fine when I used the Windows manager.
    I’m not sure I understood everything correctly, but it seems that with this manager it is possible to use a "simplified" pairing between the PC and the Livebox: it is no longer necessary to enter a 26-digit key twice as I had to do with the Windows manager.
    Here’s what I did:
    - open the Intel WiFi manager
    - open Tools / Application Settings
    - scroll down to the end in the Advanced Settings window.
    - in the WIFI Protected Setup section, uncheck the Enable device registration box and click Ok
    - a new window appears with an 8-digit code (this must be the famous device private password) and instructions that, although they are in French, remain completely incomprehensible...
    - connect to the Livebox in administrator mode (this requires having another PC connected to the Livebox!)
    - in the Configuration tab, open the Networks & Services / Livebox / WiFi Settings window
    - in the PIN code box of the Pairing section, enter the 8-digit code and click Add.
    And there you go, it should work. If not, there’s always the solution of using the Windows WiFi manager.

    Good evening,

    there is always a connection management program that installs with the wifi key. You need to disable this program to connect with Windows.

    Go to Start/all programs/Startup and remove from this folder the program from the brand of the wifi key that manages connections instead of Windows.

    This program should appear in the taskbar next to the small logo of the PC connecting via wifi. Right-click on it and exit.

    You should normally be able to connect with Windows.

    Well no, unfortunately it's not that simple!
    I understand that this device property password is quite specific....

    I was told that it might be a code requested by my computer... I admit I don't understand anything!

    To make it simpler, I would prefer to connect to my wifi network through Windows but I don't know how to do it...

    Well, under the box it says Wi-Fi key or sep key, and that's it!!!

    Well, on the menu bar at the bottom right, there's an icon with a computer, and actually, when you hover the mouse cursor over it, it says "searching for network connection" or something like that, and you need to click on it. Then your Orange network will appear on the page, and you click on it, and it will ask you to enter the code, and you enter it...! ! ! ! It's normally simple...

    I did everything you told me, but it doesn't pick up any network...
    Windows is not configuring the wireless networks... I'm trying to activate it... I haven't found how to do it yet!

    I think I understand that it's another "program" that detects my wireless networks... but I want to switch it to Windows...

    Do you see what I mean???

    what does it mean to configure?
    In any case, it works because a second computer in the house is working on wifi.

    It's already configured, as long as there is another PC.
    Where are you being asked for this password? What is written at the top of the window?
    Are you able to connect via Ethernet? (with a cable)

    Yes, I can connect with the cable, that's actually how I'm able to talk to you; :)

    At the top of the window where it asks me for the password for the peripheral property, it says:
    "Assistant WI-FI Protected set up"

    Does that ring a bell to you???
