Hello everyone:
Here is a little problem that I need to solve.
I have a surveillance system that I would like to control remotely via the Internet.
I configured it on my PC without any problem, but when I try to access it from outside using the address I assigned (192.168.1.2), it cannot be found and I'm getting error 10060 on Internet Explorer, do you have the solution???
Surveillance equipment D4 from DEDICATED MICROS.

to know the key, go to your parents' computer already connected to the network:

in a web browser, type: http://192.168.0.1

login: root
password: clubadmin

Then look for the wireless network section and you should be able to find your key... note it down and try to reconnect.

like millions of others.
addresses in 192.168.... are private IP addresses rfc1918 and as such can be repeated on millions of sites around the world as long as they are isolated from each other or connected via address translation (NAT).

A port forwarding needs to be set up on the router connecting the 192.168.1.0 network, so that it links a port of the router to port 80 of the server 192.168.1.2!

Gigaset SE551 WLAN dsl-cable Website - Siemens - Gigaset Portal :
http://gigaset.siemens.com/shc/0,1935,hq_en_0_89729_rArNrNrNrN,00.html

Login Gigaset SE551 WLAN dsl-cable; by default:

Private IP addresses (RFC1918)
http://abcdrfc.free.fr/rfc-vf/rfc1918.html
are not routed on the internet; they can only be used in a private network.
192.168.x.x is part of this.
They must therefore be transformed by the NAT function to be accessed from the internet.

192.168.1.2 is a local IP address, like all the IPs 192.168.1.x

And from the outside, you will need to use the public IP address of your connection

no, it's not YOURS at all.
these addresses can be used by everyone and anyone but ... everyone in their own space.
in fact, as long as it's everyone in their own space, we can use any address, but not on the internet: public addresses must be uniquely assigned.

no no, everything that starts with 192.168.x.x
as well as,
everything that starts with 10.x.x.x
everything that starts with 172.16.x.x to 172.31.255.255
are private IPs according to RFC 1918: https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/RFC_1918

Okay, so there would be a correction to be made on the page ip of this site
because it states:

# Private Class A IP Addresses: 10.0.0.1 to 10.255.255.254, allowing the creation of large private networks comprising thousands of computers.
# Private Class B IP Addresses: 172.16.0.1 to 172.31.255.254, allowing the creation of medium-sized private networks.
# Private Class C IP Addresses: 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.0.254, for setting up small private networks.

That's why I thought this. Thank you.

192.168.1.2 is the same IP as yours. I'm having a problem because I installed eMule but it doesn't want to work. It says while testing:

Thank you for waiting while eMule tests your ports...

Initializing IP test: i07v-213-44-40-38.d4.club-internet.fr (213.44.40.38)

Initializing TCP connection test...
The TCP test failed! The UDP test will not be attempted.

Connection test finished.

I'm using Windows XP Home and I'm with Club Internet

Thank you for helping me because I've been struggling for a while now; it's soon going to be the last straw.

Hello, I'm completely lost. I want to connect my laptop to my parents' club-internet connection.
I'm missing the WEP key.

I gave you my email by finding the IP address, but my computer won't connect to that address.

What should I do now in simple language please, because I don't understand (port forwarding, NAT function, what is that?

Thank you in advance for your replies.
