Hello,

I would like to represent a histogram with two horizontal axes. However, my Excel 2007 in the 'series options' does not display the option "Plot Series On". How can I get the "Secondary Axis" option to appear?
Thank you

Configuration: Windows XP / Firefox 3.5.16

    Hello,
    The method with XL2003 is as follows:
    Add a data series (it can be the same as series 1)
    Right-click on series 2 --> chart type --> line
    Right-click on series 2 --> Format --> select axis --> secondary axis
    Left-click to select the chart area (not the plot area) right-click --> chart options --> check secondary X-axis
    To make series 2 invisible without deleting it Click --> format --> pattern --> check no line and no marker.
    It's up to you to negotiate the small variations between XL2003 and XL2007.

    Hello Tinah.

    1) There is no secondary horizontal axis.

    2) To obtain a secondary vertical axis, you need at least 2 data series with the same abscissas. Hence the tontong procedure ...

    Thank you for the response in XL2003.
    Sure, I would like to talk about the secondary vertical axis. However, my Excel 2007 does not display the "secondary axis" box in 3D mode when I want to represent a histogram with 2 series with 2 secondary axes.
    Thank you.

      Hello,
      I'm afraid it may not be possible to add a secondary y-axis to a 3D histogram.
      To simply summarize: 3 axes in 3D: x, y, z.
      3 axes in 2D: x, y1, y2.

    Yes, Tinah; it is indeed necessary to be pragmatic, precise, and thorough when presenting a problem:

    "I would like to represent a histogram with two horizontal axes" has 2 major differences compared to
    "I would like to represent a 3D histogram with two vertical axes".

    You would have been told right from the first response that secondary axes are only available on 2D charts... tontong has nicely summarized the situation above.
