Bug in autocorrect file??

Hello,

For the past few days, I've been getting the message "Unable to save the AutoCorrect file C:\Users\my name\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Office\MSO1036.acl. This file may be read-only or you do not have permission to modify it."

Still in Word, when I try to save a file, I get this error message: "AutoSave is deferred for normal."

I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling Office, but nothing works.

These issues have arisen alongside many others... But I've separated my "problems" in the forum to avoid cluttering! If it helps to read the context, it's here: https://forums.commentcamarche.net/forum/affich-20578019-recherche-impossible-ds-explorateur-autre#p20578019

I don't understand what could have happened... I hope you can help me!

Thank you

Configuration: Linux / Firefox 3.6.13

Hi JuB0

Thanks for your reply.

Unfortunately, it doesn't work; when I double-click on "proprio.reg", I get this message: Cannot import C:\Users etc.: The specified file is not a registry script. You can only import binary registry files from the Registry Editor"

Hello,

First of all, avoid installing any REG file without being sure of its purpose regarding your system!
The REG file modifies a registry key, and it's better to be sure of its relevance! In this case, it modified a Vista registry key while you're on Win7!

Next, installing and reinstalling Office doesn't solve this type of problem because Office retains the settings, the good... and the bad ones.

It seems you have issues with the normal.dotm and the ACL file, which appear to be read-only.
Close your Word and start by renaming your normal.dotm (to anormal.dotm, for example). Then do the same with your ACL file (which is the personal French autocorrect file).

Restart Word. Make a default modification. For example, in the paragraph format, change the spacing and click on Default. This should be enough to create a new normal.dotm.
And every time you create a new autocorrect entry, your ACL file should be recreated.

Try all this, you really risk nothing, and let us know if it’s better.
