Hello,

I got a new PC for Christmas, however, when I start the installation of Windows 7, an error message appears telling me that drivers for my CD/DVD drive are missing...

I tried downloading several firmware updates and putting the .exe on a USB stick, nothing worked...

I also have the driver CD that came with the motherboard, but during the installation, they are not detected...

What should I do? Boot from the motherboard CD?

Thank you in advance... :)

Configuration: Windows Vista / Firefox 3.6.13

    Hi,

I had the same problem as you and I've just found the solution.

In your computer's BIOS, you need to change the setting that defines the type of device for your drive.

By default, it is set to IDE and you need to switch it to AHCI (which worked for me).

    Best regards,
