WiFi stuck on "network address obtaining"

Hello again, actually I found the solution by myself after multiple searches on Google!

In fact, I opened the network connections,
Right-click on the wireless network connection => properties

In the list "this connection uses the following items:"
I chose "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" then I clicked properties.
And there in the window that opened, I selected "obtain an IP address automatically" and "obtain DNS server addresses automatically."

And there you go, within 2 seconds after clicking OK on all the windows that were open, I was connected to Wi-Fi.

I forgot to tell you in my first post that it was an IP address problem because when I tried to do a "repair" by right-clicking on the wireless network connection, then repair, it got stuck on "renewing your IP address."

I have exactly the same problem with my Wi-Fi connection for several months now; the connection status is always "reading the network address." My local network is powered on, and my other PCs are connected to my router without any issues. My PC is a Compaq netbook with Windows XP.
