HP 620 sound issue Solved

Question

Hello,I just bought a brand new HP 620 Core 2 Duo laptop, everything works perfectly except the sound; it’s like I have a little radio, the sound is low and sharp, and it seems to be mono. Even when I use the balance, I only hear the left speaker. I installed the sound card drivers from the official site without success, but when I use headphones, it works perfectly. Lastly, I want to mention that when I received the PC, it had Linux pre-installed, and I installed Windows 7. One more thing, I don't want to return the PC to the seller unless I have to. I have an HP 620 laptop from the Injaz offer; this laptop has a very low volume,
to remedy this, you need to download the following driver:

IDT High-Definition (HD) Audio Driver 5.10.6268.0; 6.10.6268.0 (available on the HP site under the name sp47808.exe)

Hello.
For your information, the HP 620 laptop has only one speaker and therefore only outputs sound in mono. However, by connecting a headset or external speakers via the jack port at the front, we do get stereo sound. So it's not a driver issue or anything else. This PC is designed that way.

Steve, what you told isn't true. I had the same issue, but I installed a new driver, and now both speakers are working. However, the problem I had afterward is that from time to time, I experience sound interruptions, and the sound comes back by itself, but only with the speakers. When I use my headphones, it works perfectly.

To connect a music player or another audio device to your laptop
to connect a music player or another audio device to most laptops, you need to connect it to a Microphone jack. To do this, follow these steps:

Click here to open Sound.

Click on the Recording tab, then on Microphone, and then on Properties.

Click on the Listen tab, check the box for Listen to this device, and then click Apply.

Click on the Levels tab and make sure the Mute button looks like . If the button looks like , click on it to enable sound for this connection, then click Apply.

Play music or other sounds on your device to test the output volume from your computer's speakers. Adjust the slider under Microphone and move it to the right or left to increase or decrease the volume of your audio device, respectively, then click OK. You can also adjust the volume on the device.

Note
If you hear noise coming from your speakers, try lowering the volume on the music player and under the Levels tab. The Microphone jack is designed to receive audio content from a microphone, which is different from the audio output content from a music player.
