Hello everyone
here is my problem, I bought a PSP
it is still under warranty
I put in my original games, everything works fine for 1 week
the next day I put the games back in and my PSP
won't launch my games anymore.
even the UMD icon doesn't show up anymore
so I turn it off, reinsert the games to try to restart my PSP and still nothing
does anyone have an idea to help me please, thank you all

Hello again, I actually managed to fix my PSP. When I dropped it, the lens and the component around it had shifted towards the edge of the PSP while the component should be 1 or 2 millimeters from the part that spins the UMD. To move the component, use a non-conductive object, for example: a toothpick (it works perfectly). Gently push the component until there's only 1 millimeter left, and you're good to go. Now I can play on my PSP without any issues.
Long live toothpicks!!!

Hi,
I had the same problem as you. The solution is as follows: try to completely drain your battery, restart the game with the power cable plugged in, and update the system.
There you go, it’s magical, it works perfectly!

Hello!
If it's still under warranty, take it back to your dealer!
And explain your problem to them. They will fix it for you!
See you later!

Hi everyone,
here is the repaired result of my PSP
the issue was indeed the games that were damaged (I only have 2 games) soccer and fighting,
so the PSP works well without any problem.
As for the 2 games, I don't understand why and how they deteriorated,
considering I am the only one using them and have never lent them out
and also what is true and very real
is that the games have only worked about fifty times
on my PSP, "strange the issue"
apparently the seller of the games told me that it's possible that the UMD CD reader's ray
in my PSP could cause wear on the mini CD,
so I bought a game for 14 euros and I will wait a few weeks to see if it really comes from the PSP reading laser,
so see you soon
thank you again to all of you.

Hello everyone, personally I think the seller is mocking you to get you to buy games... I might be wrong but are you all sure you haven't tried anything special on your PSP or even on your memory stick... The problem could come from there, for example, when you download games (legal or illegal... I don't care, I'm not managing this forum...) there can be clumsy folders that install themselves at the root of your memory stick which can indeed partially or completely brick your PSP... Or to see if the problem really comes from your game, turn on your PSP then go to settings, it depends on the versions (firmwares) you have but normally, it offers you an automatic UMD launch... this proves nothing but if you check yes and restart your PSP and the game still doesn't launch (automatically) then it's highly likely that the problem comes from your game, but honestly my games have seen some action for the most part...(dropped more than once...some don't even have cases and still work...) that's all I can give you as info. However, I'm looking for someone who knows about a not very legal PSP topic... so I won't talk about it here but if someone knows the word "iso" could they help me ???? This someone must surely know what I’m talking about and what I'm looking for ; ) ... via my email address of course and not on this forum, which I quite like by the way, and which I want to respect. Thanks again !!
Me too, except that it detects me but after a while the game lags, there’s a “tok” and the loading doesn’t happen anymore, so if anyone has a solution, thank you for replying.
EEEEEH guys, if you can recognize yourselves in this problem I've had, you might find the solution to yours...
So, for those whose games worked perfectly for a while and suddenly stopped working, not being recognized by the console at all, making a blocking noise in the console, and who have examined the UMDs closely while noticing that there are no scratches on the CD, and knowing that your PSP has no issues because you've had it repaired...
Take another look at your UMDs, check the side where you can see the CD underneath, and where there’s the little hole that allows you to touch the CD inside... pay close attention to that transparent glass plate that protects the CD... if you notice that this glass plate is slightly sunk on one side and is no longer level with the white plastic frame that surrounds this protective plate, then your problem is indeed coming from there, from your UMD(s)... because this transparent glass protection must be perfectly level with the white plastic frame of the UMD, basically, you shouldn't even feel the boundary between the plastic frame and the transparent glass protection when you touch it...
Yes, you need to be careful when putting your UMD back in the case, don't be rough with it, I learned that the hard way...
I hope this testimony helps you, and if it’s the case for you too, know that it should always be fixable... I think... at least not for me... goodbye loco rocoooo!!!

Me too, I have the same problem as you, except that I don't have a warranty. What can I do to make my PSP detect the UMDs?
Well, it would be nice if they could warn about this kind of thing because it really annoys me. It just happened today, same thing, no guarantee.
Hello! I have exactly the same problem, plus it's my husband's PSP. He went to his parents' for a few days, and I let the little one play with it. When the battery was dead, we charged it and then turned it back on, and now there's no UMD menu. I tried with another game, but nothing works.

Hi everyone and thanks again for coming
to talk about the issue "Game won't start"
so following my problem
and my warranty to resolve this issue
with my PSP,
my warranty ended on 01/06/07
I sent it for repair on 12/28/06
so I picked up my PSP this morning
and this evening
I insert my games and it's the same thing
it starts and then at the moment of loading
it stays in a loop for over 1 hour and nothing happens
so, for more information here is the result of the repair from UPS Sony
"details of operations performed on the console
1/cleaning, adjustment and testing plus
for them everything is okay
and still this problem
today apparently I am without warranty
but the after-sales service confirmed to me that there is probably a warranty extension of 21 days ..(no confirmation)
I haven't touched my PSP
I just installed the version that was requested during the update online (version 2.71)
so everything worked normally without any problems for more than 6 months.
so now, my last resort is to scare them, pressure them with calls, letters, etc.,
until my PSP is replaced
that's it
thanks again to you
maybe an idea or a way to fix this,
see you soon
envin we will make it, I will keep you updated

HHHHHHHEEEEEELLLLPPPPPP hello!!!!!!!! Thank you to "Herve", I don't know who you are but thank you, it solved my problem. But after that, I was so happy that I downloaded all the games I was missing, then I put my camera on the PSP, and then I uploaded a GTA game, and it worked (normally). Then, there was a loading screen, I waited an hour, nothing happened, it wouldn't stop. So I pressed the "home" button, and then the game, like before, wouldn't show up anymore. I mean, the UMD drawing doesn't show up anymore, it's really annoying. Rrrrrr, I broke everything in the house. So if someone knows exactly how to update it or if there's another tactic, that would be cool.
PS: Try to find something other than the update, I've done it again, and as we say here, "DAMN" it didn't work, so help help help.
Contact me at: cyril-du-37@homai.fr. P.S. If someone is from around 37 and knows a person with a phone for this kind of failure, please let me know. I would be happy! A++++ and thank you. I'm 14 years old if that interests anyone.

Thank you for the information about my warranty
I just wanted to know if it was due
to a small technical issue or if someone else
might have the same problem as me
apparently, I did a search on the net for psp
and I haven't encountered this problem for psp on several forums
thanks again to everyone

same
same problem as you.
I was playing a game, my PSP plugged in, I lost and turned it off, then I saw that it wouldn't turn off, I removed the battery and turned the PSP back on. And everything works fine... I put the game back in and goodbye, the PSP doesn't detect it. :'(
it's frustrating.
No more warranty to add to my depression.
help me please!
