Hello,
Today I bought the game Call Of Duty Black Ops for PC, or Cod7.
I thought the game would be much more enjoyable if I used a controller.
So I indeed bought the "Logitech Dual Action" controller for the computer, which I installed according to the instructions. The computer recognizes it perfectly.
HOWEVER, when I launch the game Call Of Duty and find myself, for example, in the menu, I have to use the mouse and keyboard, as the controller does not work. I go to the game options, but the "controller" icon indicates that no controller is recognized.
I have browsed numerous forums, installed several software, restarted my computer, and dissected the manual, TO NO AVAIL.
I am thus coming to you this evening to present this problem, hoping that you can offer me a solution.
Thank you for your help :)

Configuration: Windows 7 / Internet Explorer 8.0

Hello,
I am having the same issue with the same controller. It resembles what happened previously with GTA IV, which means that the game is intentionally limited by the publisher to only work with certain controllers, including the Xbox 360 controller for PC, costing the modest sum of €35; that's how far marketing goes... To be honest, I don't have it, so I can't confirm, but if your PC recognizes the controller correctly, don't get rid of it just yet, it will be useful for other games.
There is a way to work around this problem, though it is quite cumbersome: install a controller emulator. This transforms the signal from the controller into keyboard and/or mouse signals. Therefore, you just need to make the normal keyboard/mouse settings in the game settings and configure the emulator accordingly. It can be time-consuming, quite tedious, or not straightforward with games set up by default in QWERTY, for instance, but it’s the only way.

Good luck.

I have Windows 7 and therefore the program cannot adapt. Is there software for Seven?

You go to the properties of Xpadder -> run as -> Windows XP.
Thank you very much for this very precise answer :). I will follow your approach, hoping for a good result.
