Displaying playback time in milliseconds in VLC?

Hello,

Is it possible to display the time in milliseconds in VLC? If not, is there another free application that can play FLV videos while showing the time in ms? Thank you.

The display of milliseconds is used to create or edit subtitle files.

I don't have the solution, but I don't see the problem with displaying in hundredths of a second.
If you are at 100 frames per second (4 times the standard speed), you have an image every 1/100 of a second. What is the purpose of displaying it in 1/1000 of a second?
