Good evening,
I wanted to suggest a 'thing', I don't know if this topic has already been discussed, I can't find anything.
Would it be possible to establish a system to know if a certain member is online on CCM? A small indication, for example, in the profile showing whether the member is online or not; it would help to know if we should wait for a member's response or if they have gone to bed :).
Thank you.

Hello!
Indeed, the idea is good!
Now, we need to see if it’s feasible?
Otherwise, a quick question: why are some usernames black while the rest are blue?
Thanks for your response! -
Hello.
"whether the member is connected or not": already mentioned as well; answer: yes, .... but no.
Principle of respect for privacy; marginally, it also avoids misunderstandings and conflict topics, like "You were still online last night at such and such time, why didn't you reply? Are you upset with me? What did I do to you? etc." when they simply forgot to log out before shutting down their PC....

Hello,
I strongly oppose this proposal and I support what Béhème is saying...
We should allow logged-in members to read the forum content without having to show that they are online.
Cheers.

I was just offering
Now, you have...
And what if you completed your profile? That would be nice... well, that would be better!

Indeed, but that won't give you much more!!!

THANK YOU! And don't believe what you added above: I feel the person I'm enjoying discussing with better. :-)

Hi
Personally, it doesn't appeal to me.
First of all because of my username ... Furtif ...
But mainly because a forum is not a chat. Therefore, you shouldn't expect an immediate response, even if the person you are questioning is present.
So in my opinion, it doesn't have any interest.

** @+ / Furtif **- You could have chosen "draft," "hurricane," "tornado" as a nickname...
Anyway, when I provide even a little help, I don’t monitor the responses.
But I readily admit that in some rather "heavy" cases, it would be a PLUS for those who share their knowledge... (I know I'm off-topic here...)
Don’t forget we live in a world where everything is owed...
--
Judging without knowing: it's tempting and especially easy... - Go for "Draft."
Well, I maintain that personally, it doesn't bring me anything. That doesn't mean my opinion applies to the community.
Two other points:
- It's one-way, only "members" can be tracked, while anonymous users can almost change their names with every post.
- I often jump from one forum to another on CCM, so being able to inform exactly where I am at any given moment...

Indeed, there seems to be an expectation from a lot of people on this side, and at the same time, a refusal (which I agree with) from some.
What I propose is to set up a page indicating who is online, with the following limitation:
it will be necessary to explicitly check an option in the profile to accept that CCM indicates whether we are online or not! By default, there will be no changes.

Hello
Looking at it this way, it works
If the final choice to appear or not lies with the members, depending on whether we check a box in the profile or not, I'm good with that.
Thank you... good idea.

The problem is that one must judge false information as acceptable! :)

Many people will not check this box, so we will not know if they are online or not, meaning that in most cases we will not be able to deduce any information.

It's true, but currently, members who want to browse "incognito" can "log out" and use an anonymous, "disposable" username. So, if there's a checkbox to check/uncheck, it would be more convenient.
I also notice that other "forum sites" have this presence indicator.
I confirm that from the perspective proposed by Jeff (free choice), it's better than being automatically identified when entering CCM, but in any case, it doesn't bring me anything.
