Hello, I have a problem, my PC has returned from repair, with a new Asrock motherboard, I am trying to overclock my CPU, I set the FSB to 370 (default value 333) and the Vcore to 1.35 volts instead of 1.25 (it's a Quad Q8200), and now my PC won't start, when I power it on the fan runs, etc., but there's no display on the screen, the keyboard is off... I'm very worried, my PC just came back from repair! Please help me, I don't know what to do anymore!!

Thank you..

Have a good evening.

Configuration: Windows Vista / Firefox 3.0.19

So you unplug your PC's power supply

you remove the CMOS battery, it's a big round battery that's hard to miss.

Leave it unplugged for 20 seconds just to be sure and then plug it back in.

Have you reinstalled Windows after changing the motherboard?

And lastly, you don't overclock a CPU all at once like that, it's very dangerous.

You should have started with a FSB of 350 for example.

    Then adjust the voltage.

And be careful with your RAM...

    Hello,

did you do a Clear Cmos???

you should never overclock hastily like you just did.

one question, why a new Asrock motherboard???

You shouldn't rush things! Have you read any tutorials to understand how to do it?

    Hello

Given how you've increased the voltage, I would say you have more processor.

Press F5 in the BIOS first. Then, if you haven't damaged anything, you can start overclocking with the right software.

Because I have an Acer PC and the motherboard failed, they put an Asrock one for me.

I don't know how to do a Clear CMOS, how do you do it?

    Thank you..

Ascrock = Escrock... you see what I mean? Already, when you look at the motherboards from this brand, you wonder if they've experienced technological progress.

      I admit lol I didn't think I'd see a chemical capacitor again in 2010 ^^

Yes, but that doesn't solve my problem..

How do you do a CMOS clear? I've heard that you can also remove the BIOS battery? What does it look like? Where is it?

I started with 350, then 370.. thank you, I'm going to try that, but by the way, I don't plan to change the motherboard, it's new so well..

I can't remove the battery, and I don't want to force it because it's stuck in plastic.. what should I do? As for the clear CMOS, I don't see any jumper, just the two pins, so I can't connect it..

Well, I cleared the CMOS, my PC starts up, Windows Vista is loading, but it's taking a long time; it's already been 4 minutes since it started loading... I'm worried...

I solved my problem myself, I restarted it in safe mode after the clearcmos and now it starts up, I will restart it normally with the last known good configuration. Thank you all!

I cleared the CMOS, it works again but I'll deal with the overclocking later.

    Hello
    For your information:
A Q8200 quad can easily be overclocked to 3GHz without touching the Vcore.
But don't forget to desynchronize the RAM.
