Transporting a gaming tower safely Solved

Question

Hello everyone.  So here it is, I'm presenting my problem.  Tomorrow, I'm moving. I have to drive 500 km and I need to transport my computer tower...  However, I've just realized that my father threw away the packaging of my PC!!!  So, I'm quite embarrassed about transporting it, especially since the case alone cost me 200 euros.  I plan to remove the graphics card and the HDDs, but seriously, I'm freaking out..........  My tower cost me a total of 1690 euros and frankly, I'm way too scared to hit the road; any speed bump will result in a stop to check the condition of my tower.   I would like to know if you have any ideas for transportation methods to avoid as many risks as possible.  I hope you can reply quickly since I'm leaving tomorrow morning! Hello.  The best thing you can do is obviously to transport the PC in the car when you go to the site and not in the truck, that goes without saying. Then I advise you to put the tower in a box with sheets at the bottom, and then fill the "void" between the tower and the edges with soft stuff like sheets, or polystyrene if you have it. When fragile packages like PCs are delivered to you, it's sometimes with simple "pebbles" of polystyrene so that they absorb the shocks caused to the box during transport. Hi, the graphics card is well secured, don't worry about it.   Start by removing the CPU cooler and the hard drives, and that's it.   Put your PC in a cardboard box filled with polystyrene, the inside of the PC too if you're worried, and that's all.    See you and good luck with the move and safe travels because it's 500km!

Hi  There's no need to panic like that! A computer is sturdier than you think. Just make sure not to leave anything heavy on your motherboard, especially the graphics card. Then, the most sensitive part is the hard drive. It shouldn't be bumped, but it can still be moved safely: it would be wise to place it (or them) in some foam. But remember that there aren't significant differences between a laptop hard drive and a desktop hard drive.  Otherwise, avoid letting the movers handle your machine, but don't stress for no reason. I've traveled thousands of kilometers with my machines when I lived in Moncton and my family in Quebec: I never had any trouble (and I always throw away my packaging, which only provides a false sense of security and takes up a lot of space). Well anyway, I thank you very much for your advice and your promptness, I will probably mix your techniques (sheets, styrofoam) to protect the tower, remove the GPU and hard drives!  Again, a big thank you to you, you’re really nice :)
