Hello,
my PC was working fine, I let my nephews play some games, now it’s running slowly, they must have pressed something, when I try to restart, it says "the task host is executing shutdown tasks", the program in question is "task host windows", I force the restart and it works a bit then I feel like everything tends to stop, programs take a long time to launch
how can I disable "task host windows" or how can I return to normal functioning?
I tried a restore but it’s the same
a big thank you to everyone who will help me resolve this issue
Configuration: Windows 7 / Internet Explorer 8.0

You can simply disable task host:
If you are on Windows 10, the problem is rarer, but you can still try this:
- go to Control Panel, Administrative Tools, and open "Task Scheduler" or press Windows+R and type
taskschd.msc
- In Task Scheduler:
- On the left, expand Task Scheduler Library > Microsoft > Windows and click on RAC
- In the central part, right-click on "Rac Task", select "Disable"
- If Rac Task does not appear, click in the View menu and choose Show hidden tasks.
If you are on Windows 10, the problem is rarer, but you can still try this:
- Check that Windows 10 is up to date: Windows 10 Settings / Update and Security.
- Temporarily disable your antivirus to see if it improves.
Thank you, excellent and simple.
