Hello,
I just reinstalled Windows XP on my PC that had crashed, I have an ATI 9550 256 MB video card and I installed the drivers; Windows XP recognized the card (device manager) but when I restart the PC, the screen is black and it says "out of range signal" so I have to start the PC in safe mode to disable the drivers.
How can I get it to work properly? I want to clarify that I haven’t touched or disassembled the PC, I only reinstalled Windows.
Thank you in advance for your response.

Hello
graphic card out of range means that the selected configuration does not match. If you can boot in safe mode, you need to disable the current resolution
try disabling it in msconfig
so that Windows recognizes a default one
then reinstall the driver for your card --

In Start, then Run, and in the small window that opens, you type msconfig. Then in the window that will open, go to
Startup, and another window will open where you uncheck only what is related to your graphics card, which is labeled. You save and restart your PC.

first of all, thank you for your response, but could you explain to me how to disable it in msconfig as I am indeed not a pro with computers?
Thank you for everything.
See you later,
