Hello,
I would like to check a 120 GB Maxtor ATA hard drive using Linkin'kit.
I connected the hard drive via USB to my computer, plugged the IDE cable into the hard drive, and powered it on... so far so good, I'm waiting for the drive to spin up but nothing is happening on my computer, I can't find the hard drive I just plugged in... Can anyone help me?
Thanks in advance
Claude
Configuration: Windows 7 / Firefox 3.6.8

Actually, you need to do it in order:
1- connect the IDE port to the drive,
2- connect the power supply to the drive
3- plug in the power supply, the drive starts and begins to spin
4- connect the USB port to the computer
From there, the computer then sees the drive.
I had the same problem as you, it was just because I had plugged in the USB on the computer side before the drive had started.
