"Saiunkoku Monogatari" s1-2
In a distant past, Shuurei Kô, a young schoolteacher, tries to earn money to subsist and to maintain the large house where she lives with her father, the Emperor’s bookseller. Despite her high noble status, her family is very poor. That’s why she eagerly accepts the Emperor’s Counselor’s proposal, without even knowing him, when he entices her with a large sum of money. She ends up married to him, discovering that he is attracted to men and not interested in politics, in order to change him, according to the counselor’s plan.

I strongly recommend it, even though it is very hard to find the third season ^^ or watch it in Chinese if you understand a magnificent love story and martial arts-drama (I cried a lot over it ~~) very little known to the world because it’s hard to find ^^

"Condor Hero"
Condor Hero is an anime set during the Mongol invasion of China. The main character is Yang Guo. His father died when he was about 3, and soon after, his mother passed when he was nine. He becomes an orphan very early and is found by Guo Jing, a close friend of his father. He and his wife take care of Yang Guo. Despite poor relations with those around him, Guo Jing decides to send him to a martial arts temple in Zhong Nan Shang (Yang Guo’s father was once a student at this temple).

Following a serious accident caused at this temple during a fight, Yang Guo flees and is beaten by the elders. But an old woman saves him. She is the servant of Xiao Long Nu, the heir of an ancient martial arts school located in a tomb near the temple. Only girls can join this school. But after the old woman’s last wishes—she gave her life to save the young man—he is ultimately accepted as a disciple: the "Legend of Condor Hero" can now begin...

"Fushigi Yûgi"
Miaka is an ordinary fifteen-year-old schoolgirl but a voracious eater. One day she accompanies her childhood friend Yui to the library, and believes she sees a bird that leads her to a room full of old books. A volume falls at her feet: the Shiji of the Four Gods. hmm, this is more the Middle Ages but I also recommend it

"Chronicles of the Heroic Knight Lodoss War" (Legend of the Gallant Knight)
South of the continent Araycrust lies Lodoss, the accursed island. This island has always suffered devastating wars of domination.
The story here takes place a few years after the War of the Heroes. Parn, the free knight, still fights alongside the elf Deedlit for the good of Lodoss inhabitants.
Then our companions, thanks to omens from Marfa (Earth goddess), learn that Ashram, servant of the late Beld (king of Marmo), wants to recover the Scepter of Domination to unite the peoples of Lodoss.
Parn and Deedlit, accompanied by the mage Slayne and new adventurers, go to Flaim, the kingdom of a friend, to obtain the help of a powerful entity to fight Ashram.

"The Night Watchman" (I loved the double personality aspect, very original)

Paris, 18th century. While Versailles, under Louis XV, revels in luxury, a plot unfolds in the shadows. It all begins with a coffin drifting on the Seine. A young lady named Lya de Beaumont. Her younger brother, d’Éon, will do everything to expose those responsible for her death. What secret had she kept for so long? What does the word, written in blood on the coffin lid, mean: "psalm"? How is the Duke of Orléans involved in this affair? A string of questions that will plunge the young man into a swirl of mysteries, deceptions, and dark powers.

"Ikoku Meiro no Croisée"
Paris, late 19th century.
“Under the glass roof of the aging King’s Gallery, you can glimpse the slim figure of a little Japanese girl named Yune. For now, only a few Parisians know of her arrival.”
Oscar, a French traveler, returns from Japan with Yune, a girl around ten years old. She will be welcomed in the Roy’s Signboard shop by Claude, a blacksmith and master of the place, grandson of Oscar. She will help them run the shop and do household chores in a Gallery on the verge of closure because of the appearance of the Grands Magasins.
And life in Paris for a young foreign girl will be full of surprises. Just as for Claude, who will learn to understand the habits of a country that is also foreign to him.

"Sengoku Otome: Momoiro Paradox"
Hideyoshi, a young high-school girl, is teleported back in time after an accident in a temple. "Saord Online" (Sword Art Online) (Story set in a heroic/fantasy/romance game)
In 2022, the video game world writes a new page in its history with the release of a revolutionary MMO called Sword Art Online, in which the player’s mind is fully integrated into a virtual world. "Kemono no souja Erin"
In a world where wars for the conquest of territory are common, the empire of Ryoza, governed by a queen, manages to live in prosperity. If its borders are often threatened, they are never crossed thanks to the strategy of the Grand Duke, who leads the army. The army has a major advantage, since it is the only one capable of using wild and colossal beasts called toda during battles. The toda are raised in the village of Aka, located inside the kingdom, far from the battlegrounds.
