Hello,
Still caught up in my paranoia about privacy on the internet, I would like to know if Facebook keeps chat histories. Thank you for your answers.

If you want to retrieve your conversation history, you'll find it in Account Settings / Download a copy of your data on Facebook. There will be almost everything.
However, it won’t be complete (everything that has been deleted or even some earlier conversations won’t be included). For this:- Click on Settings / Your Facebook Information / Download Your Information / View.
- Select your options (photo quality, date, etc.)
- Finally click on Create File
