Hello,
By the way, I've had an HP computer for 2 years, and my parents offered to buy me a MacBook. In your opinion, should I keep my HP or buy a Mac?
And if I buy a MacBook, which one should I get? The regular one or the Pro?
All this knowing that I use the internet a lot, MSN, music, photos, videos...
Please reply as soon as possible.
Thank you very much.

If you only use it for the internet, MSN, music, photos, and videos, I suggest you keep your HP. However, if you want a great machine and have the budget, it’s clear that the MacBook Pro is classy. Now, you probably use a lot of stuff from Windows... if you like to play games, you might have more issues with macOS...

Hello,
Well, since it's not you paying... I advise you to go for the MacBook. Pro or not, given your usage, it's more a matter of design. Honestly, I think the Pro is prettier, and its unibody aluminum casing makes it more durable than its little brother, the "regular" MacBook. That said, I wouldn't recommend a PC because you don't game with it; you stick to basic tasks. Internet and MSN, photos, and music don't require a hard-core gaming PC, but if it were you paying, I would recommend a PC—Apple's MacBooks and MacPros are really overpriced for the performance!
Otherwise, try to get the biggest hard drive, but the smallest processor and 4 GB of RAM because 2 GB seems a bit too tight to me!
Have a good day! -
"After if you want a super machine"... Of course!
>> 13 inches: 2.4GHz
Intel Core 2 Duo Processor
4 GB of RAM
250 GB Hard Drive
NVIDIA GeForce 320M Graphics Processor <<
At €1149, it's true that we're not getting ripped off for the price; we have a very underpowered and even outdated machine here! For €1149 in the PC world, you can get much better and more powerful! -
Thank you for your answers.
Franck7511, you are right about the prices, but in any case, I won't buy a PC. It's either I keep my HP or I buy a Mac.
Their system is really great!! -
I say get a MacBook: http://store.apple.com/fr/configure/MC516F/A?mco=MTc4OTIxMjA
And give it a 500 GB hard drive, better if you download a lot. After that, it's true that I find Apple stingy with RAM. See if you can add an extra 2 GB. The screen is 13 inches too! But the system is good, yes, but for basic things, not for tinkerers or gamers like me! ^^ -
Well, after all, it's mainly their marketing that's great rather than the OS. One would believe they even comment on posts on CCM to sell their product!!!!
-
Oh really? I hate their marketing: it's too indoctrinating: "Buy me or you're a loser, you have no taste, and no friends especially... Because above all, Apple is the most advanced system in the world, the fastest, the most beautiful, the most functional, etc...". Microsoft is calmer and doesn’t force us to buy their system, at least their website is more moderate in its statements! That's why I don't buy Mac. Just for that! As for spies on CCM, I don't know, it's possible after all!

Their marketing leaves me indifferent and annoys me, and I game a lot, and especially I tinker a lot: two things that you can't really do under Mac!

By the way, I went to the Apple showroom. It just makes me want to buy one.
I have a new hesitation; should I get a MacBook or an iMac? knowing that my HP is portable.
Thank you very much, and I hope to get some answers. -
Hi
Too bad you're not the one paying...
You'd quickly understand that for browsing the internet, instant messaging (MSN), music, video, and downloading, a Mac is way, way too expensive...
The little chic & trendy apple is pretty, but seriously, if it's not for working, it's really not worth it. Obviously, compared to a HP laptop, there is a world of difference in quality/reliability/finish.
But compared to an equivalent Asus or Toshiba, the price is almost doubled and it's not any more reliable in terms of hardware.
In short, we can't deny that Macs are beautiful machines with a stable, user-friendly, and efficient operating system. (Of course, unlike Windows, Mac OS is designed by and for Mac, and that's it)
Does that justify the prices charged? I don't think so, but to each their own.

Before asking a question: 1° Turn on your brain, your PC doesn't think for you!
2° Google is your friend, the CCM search engine is too, do some research!-
You know, I don't use the computer just for MSN, music...
No, but what do you think... I work with it too. I need it for my studies: presentations, etc.
And by the way, you're mistaken about me; do you think I want to buy a Mac for their "cute little chic & trendy apple," as you say, and that I don't think about the price and everything...
If that were the case, I would have bought it a long time ago instead of this HP.
