Hello, I've had Windows Vista since 2008, and for some time now, my desktop is totally black, and in the bottom right corner, it says "Windows Vista (TM) build 6002 this copy of Vista is not genuine," even though I've activated Vista since I got my PC. I don't know what to do anymore; I've looked online but only found solutions for XP. Is there a solution without going into the cmd? If so, what is it? Thank you in advance.

Hi 3 solutions:
- you buy a Microsoft Windows Vista license (legal)
- you migrate to Microsoft Windows 7
- you downgrade to Microsoft XP -
Am I going to have to purchase a version again?!
If that's the case, it's outrageous on Microsoft's part, especially since my version is perfectly legal, it's the original one from the PC ><. -
I had the same problem, even though my Windows 7 64-bit is legitimate. You need to download WindowsActivationUpdate which will fix the issue.
Good luck!

Hello.
Simply rearm the key:
Click on Start, in Search, type cmd, then at the top
right-click on cmd.exe \ Run as administrator
In the command prompt window, type this:
slmgr -rilc
slmgr -rearm -
I did it, but it says
" 'slmgr-rilc' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file" -
You need to keep a space between slmgr and what follows
(the character "*" represents a space)
slmgr*-rilc
slmgr*rearm -
Thank you, Morganth, I had to do it twice but now it's working again!
Thanks a lot again! I'll note that down in case it happens again!
