Hello,
So I got my PSP yesterday, and when I connect it (after putting the USB mode on my PSP), my PSP is not recognized; it just says PSP-type A but asks me for a driver. I have XP, and it's the first time it asks me for a driver.
How can I find this driver for XP?
Thanks in advance.

Sorry for the bump, but no one is providing a concrete solution...

So personally, I found an intermediate solution to the typical answers...

Have you tried changing the USB cable??

I had a charging/USB/mini-USB cable that worked very well for two years, I swapped it with a simple USB/mini-USB, and everything works perfectly.

To those who understand...

By the way, stop polluting the forums by asking the same questions, it serves no purpose except to frustrate those who are reading...

Hello,
To make your PC detect it, you need to refresh the Windows home page, then connect the PSP after putting it in USB mode. After connecting, you should refresh the page again (it's better to plug the USB cable into the most frequently used USB port). I ask you to refresh to overcome any bugs and hang-ups. If your PC still doesn’t recognize it, it would be better to turn off your PC and turn it back on, then go through the same steps.
That's what I do if I want to install any technological hardware on my laptop without the installation CD.
THE PROBLEM is that my PC is asking me for a shortcut. I don’t know why; I chose the desktop and was told the file was not found. I thought my desktop space was insufficient, so I installed it on my hard drive. THE SAME THING; I don’t know what to do. Those who were able to install it are having these problems. Please respond. THANK YOU, KISSES.

Il faut faire clic droit sur le poste de travail, puis faire installer, et il va détecter PSP 1.5 downloader et voilà.

Good evening,

Actually, no driver is needed; on the PSP, you need to select "settings" and then "USB connection," and it will be recognized by XP

You have to read the manual!!!

In order for the PSP to be recognized by Windows XP, make sure THERE IS A MEMORY CARD INSERTED IN THE PSP!!!!!!!!!!!
If there is one, press X on USB Connection on the PSP, then wait 10 seconds and go to My Computer, then it’s Removable Disk.

There you go ;-)

Hello,
I had the same problem as you: that is to say, PSP Video 9 couldn't find my PSP!
I solved the issue: my PSP had a memory card; when I connected it to my computer, there were only the "psp" folder and 2 other things. In fact, you need to format your PSP, meaning: you turn on your PSP/settings/system settings/memory stick format. Then you connect your PSP to your computer, and you will see that there are several files.
Then you download PSP Video 9, and it tells you that the PSP has been found.
There you go, hoping this helps you. In any case, it worked for me!

Hello everyone!

I've read the different answers but none solve my problem: When I connect my PSP to my computer, it doesn't recognize it. I've gone into settings/USB connection. I've disabled the USB charging, formatted the memory stick, and nothing works.
However, when I connect it to another computer, it works. Both computers have Windows XP.

Can someone please help me?

Thanks ^^

Hello, I also got a PSP not long ago and my PC didn't recognize my PSP. After several attempts, I tried on another computer and it worked. Actually, you need to have the original PSP cable to connect it to the computer.

Hello everyone, I also have a little problem... I connected my PSP to my computer (with a USB cable) and then went to Settings, USB Connection, and it keeps telling me that this device can work faster [...] if you connect it to a high-speed USB 2.0 port.
Well, it shows me this message all the time (even when I connect, for example, a camera or camcorder... anyway) that's not what bothers me, but I don't know how to access the memory stick duo to transfer photos, music, videos... So if someone could help me!! ^^' Thanks in advance.
