Remove softonic

Open Firefox, in the address bar, enter this URL --> https://www.google.fr/?gws_rd=ssl, then go to tools, options, general tab, click on current page and OK. Then, in the address bar, type: about:config , in the filter type: keyword.url, then right-click keyword.url on the line corresponding to Google and choose reset. Then go to: C\programs or program files\mozilla firefox\search plugins, delete everything except Google.

Go to Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs
and check if you have Softonic in the list to remove it.

For Mozilla Firefox, you also need to remove the add-on in (tools/add-ons), simply uninstalling the Softonic toolbar program is not enough...

I have the same problem but on Mozilla, and apparently it's not the same method as for IE.
