Hello,

I suspect that I am being listened to at work; is there a way to check?

Why do you think you are being listened to?

In any case, in most companies that have a telephone exchange (a network), you just need to call the extension in intercom mode like for babies at home, and you can hear everything happening near the handset.
Not to mention VoIP, which can even record conversations...

If it's about your mobile phone, it's even possible for your boss to locate you (if the phone belongs to the company, of course).

    Nowadays, everything is possible...

No, the phones are independent; they are at least 60 km apart from each other.
I didn't know about the mobile one.

Kilometers don't matter if it's "Voice over IP".
Calls go through the internet and everything can be saved on the server.

Hello everyone, to all the threads, on all the forums,

You all tell everything and anything!
Unlike what the professionals say, telecom technicians, etc... illegal phone tapping is a common occurrence since it's become child’s play and uncontrollable!!!

There are no paranoids, illuminati, extraterrestrials, or "butter on the..."

These things are taboo!!! You don't really think these people will tell you what they do and what they especially have been told not to say!!!

Do you think they will hesitate????

    I can't believe this!!!

To be convinced, you just have to have been through it yourself...

Hello, not really no, you can't check if you're being monitored or not

But if you say it's at work:

The employer does not have the legal right to listen to or monitor someone unless it is stated in the employment contract. Telephone communications can for example be monitored but you cannot record someone without their knowledge.

The same goes for the internet, emails, etc.

This kind of thing can lead to lawsuits, and I don't believe a serious employer wants to risk their reputation for that.

That said, it's normal that one should never have private conversations or send emails from work...
