Arcsoft Connect Daemon has stopped working

Hello,

Here is what a Windows window says when my PC starts:
"Arcsoft Connect Deamon has stopped working. Windows will close the program"

I am using Vista and I have free Antivr which did not detect anything during a full scan. I should also mention that I regularly clean my PC with CCleaner.

I am therefore seeking your help here...
Is it a virus? Thank you for enlightening me and helping me get rid of this window.

Thank you in advance!

Looking forward to hearing from you,
GC.

Configuration: Windows Vista / Internet Explorer 7.0

Good evening, a somewhat late reply but one that may be useful to others.
This program is typically bundled with certain camcorders or cameras. It is associated with an image editing program. You can remove it without any harm, especially since it launches a resident ACDaemon.exe that loads at startup and consumes memory for no reason. Unfortunately, just as it did not ask for permission to install, ArcSoft does not provide an uninstallation program (well done!).
In Start/Run/msconfig, go to the Startup tab to display the list of processes that load into memory. Uncheck the ArcSoft Connection box.
On the next boot, it will not load into memory. You can then delete it by moving the folder C:\Program Files\Common Files\ArcSoft\Connection Service\Bin\ (to a USB drive for example - so you can restore it if you find that one of your programs no longer works - an ArcSoft program, of course).
You still need to clean the Registry (but if you don't know how, it's better to avoid it as it's dangerous to mess around in there).

Thank you for this information, jmc
it's really stupid of me, I thought of the administration tools, and not of the simple msconfig

lol in trying to make things too complicated, we forget the simplest means

Thank you a thousand times to jmc70.
Simple, clear, and above all ... EFFECTIVE!
I had almost given up after dragging that "Arcsoft Daemon has stopped ... etc" for so long.
My heartfelt gratitude, then.

Thank you for your help.
I've just done it.
But the same window appears a few seconds after running the .exe file:
"Arcsoft Connect Daemon has stopped working. Windows will close the program"!

GC83 Posted messages 249 Status Member 4

Then a second window opens saying: "Arcsoft Connect Daemon has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close this program and notify you if a solution is available."

And then the window stays on the screen with no further information.

I did it (I disabled everything in "properties") and it's still the same: at startup the window says that Arcsoft connect daemon has stopped working!

What is this program? Can't we get rid of it?

Hi,
I have the same problem...
I started ArcSoft to see... it seems to be linked to my son's mp4 and it asks me for the product registration; when I try to launch it, I get a message saying it has stopped working.

I deduce that it's simply shareware; I just need to uninstall it...

download hijackthis http://www.trendsecure.com/portal/en-US/_download/HJTInstall.exe
>> save the target as .... "the desktop" rename HJTInstall.exe to something like HJT.exe

>> Double-click on "HJT.exe" to start the installation

>> Click on Install then "I Accept"

>> Click on "Do a scan system and save log file"

>> The Notepad will open, copy and paste all its content here in your next response

Well, go to

Control Panel "switch to category view of preferences (on the right)

then Performance and Maintenance

then Administrative Tools

double click on "Services"

and there you look for everything related to "Arcsoft"
double click on it... then click on Stop... and finally select the startup type and Disabled click on OK

You are suggesting the same thing as in your message from April 5. I've already done all that.
I don’t understand why hijackthis didn’t uninstall/delete this thing.

My last post from April 16th said there is no change. Windows keeps notifying me that Arcsoftdeamon has stopped working. In my opinion, disabling it does not solve this problem.

Question: What exactly is Arcsoftdeamon? What is it used for? Why is it showing up today and not before? How can we get rid of it if it’s not important? Should we, on the contrary, turn it back on?

This may be related: Since Windows reported that Arcsoftdeamon has stopped working, my firewall (pctools) asks me to qualify a detected network at startup... I click on "public" or "work" each time to get rid of this window. Are these two things related?

I am not sure, some say it's legal, others say it's a spyware
I don’t know this software, so in the absence of information, I prefer to consider it harmful

So I advise you to do this

1-----------------------------------

Download Malwarebyte's here http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam/program/mbam-setup.exe
The program will automatically update.
If the COMCTL32.OCX file is missing, you can download it here
https://www.malekal.com/tutorial-aboutbuster/
Once updated, the program will start; click on the settings tab, and check the box: "Stop Internet Explorer during deletion".

Now click on the search tab and check the box: "run a quick scan".

Then click on "search".

Let it scan the PC...

If items are found > click on delete selection.

If you're asked to restart > click on "yes".

At the end, a report will open; save it so you can find it to post it on the forum.

Copy and paste the report please.

PS: reports are also stored in the report/log tab

2.----------------------------------

Download Toolbar-S&D (Team IDN) to your Desktop.
https://77b4795d-a-62cb3a1a-s-sites.googlegroups.com/site/eric71mespages/ToolBarSD.exe?attachauth=ANoY7cpVobGk5bHnxrhQ4yaoEUDJvOYNnEGyYjgqHZz5GqZLfutR3fMFPlsC3-CGIilfupPAguYATNyua3csodN_frdMK8sSzUpit10Yac-QJCOkMqJKkbdKcP6ySs8trWPgoNVIq4TGGWCe6o0txXQv-ZueJF9vZzw3RXsGwFYIqN2lvF2LPdQzS8mE1d5kWOVOz6EMzQuE5-lClSJM869uq3oc7-t7yg%3D%3D&attredirects=3

* Run the program installation by executing the downloaded file.
* Now double-click on the Toolbar-S&D shortcut.
* Select the desired language by typing the letter of your choice and validating with the Enter key.
* Now choose option 1 (Search). Wait until the search is complete.
* Post the generated report. (C:\TB.txt)

I had the same problem for quite some time. Having noticed that it was a software included on the CD provided with my Panasonic FZ28 camera, I tried reinstalling it and realized that the program on the CD offered to uninstall it, which I did. I then reinstalled the Arcsof software from the camera's CD and the problem was resolved.

Thank you to Gilou 31. I've had the same problem for a while and hadn't found the solution yet. I uninstalled the software "ArcSoft Photo Impression" that came with a negative and slide scanner. No more problems since then.

Thank you too :) . Still a relevant topic.

Hello everyone, uninstalling and reinstalling the ArcSoft Photo Impression software does not help because it is due to a lack of internet connection at startup. It is used to call an online assistant, and then, once you click on "Don't send" or "Send error report," the ArcSoft Connect Daemon software and service reopen once the internet connection is stable. But to get rid of this message, it's better to disable the service.
